Elmore Gymnasium
T.M. Elmore Gymnasium is a 6,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Normal, the northern part of Huntsville, Alabama, United States. It is home to the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs women's volleyball team, and was also home to the A&M men's and women's basketball teams before their 2022 move to the new Alabama A&M Events Center. The gymnasium is informally known as "The Dog House" due to the hot temperature and loud environment for opposing teams. In February 1996, Elmore Gymnasium was ranked the "fourth-toughest place to play" in NCAA Division II basketball by ''Division II Bulletin''. The three venues ranked ahead of it were Althouse Hall at Philadelphia Textile (now known as Jefferson); the Owensboro Sportscenter, a municipally-owned venue used by Kentucky Wesleyan College; and the DakotaDome at the now- Division I University of South Dakota (no longer used for basketball since the 2016 opening of the adjacent Sanford Coyote Sports Center). The Von Braun Center (known as the Von Braun Civic Center until 1997) is an entertainment complex, with a maximum arena seating capacity of 9,000, located in Huntsville, Alabama. The original facility debuted in 1975 and has undergone several significant expansions since its opening. The Sanford Coyote Sports Center is an indoor arena located on the campus of the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, South Dakota. The facility opened in 2016 and hosts the university's men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. It has a seating capacity of 6,000. The center is named after a major supporter of the athletic program, Sanford Health, which donated $20 million to help with construction of the facility. South Dakota Coyotes
The South Dakota Coyotes, also known as the USD Coyotes (locally pronounced ; ), are the athletic teams for the University of South Dakota. Their team colors are vermilion and white. They have been members of Summit League of the NCAA's Division I since the 2011–12 school year. The football team plays in Division I's Football Championship Subdivision as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Coyotes were charter members of the Division II North Central Conference and were members until 2008 when it upgraded to Division I. Before the 2016–17 school year, most of the Coyotes' athletic events were held in the multi-purpose DakotaDome, located in Vermillion, South Dakota. The DakotaDome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Opened in 1979 at a cost of $8.2 million, the 9,100-seat venue is the home of the South Dakota Coyotes for football, swimming and diving, and track and field. The approximate elevation is above sea level. The DakotaDome was also the home site for the NAIA school Briar Cliff University football team from 2013 until 2017, when they re-located 25 miles to the southeast to Sioux City, Iowa, which is where their campus is located.
