Elmore is a town in Elmore County, Alabama, United States. Although initially incorporated in 1906, it lapsed and was not reincorporated again until 1997. At the 2010 census the population was 1,262, up from 199 in 2000. It is part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Elmore is located in western Elmore County at (32.542314, -86.315455). It is bordered to the west by Millbrook and to the south by Coosada. Alabama State Route 14 passes through the town, leading east to Wetumpka and west to Prattville. Montgomery, the state capital, is to the south via Cook Road and Coosada Parkway. Elmore, Illinois
Elmore is a small, unincorporated settlement in the northwest corner of Millbrook Township, Peoria County, Illinois. The Spoon River runs nearby. It did have one church, a United Methodist Church, but it closed in 2008. The church building was built in 1865 and 1866 by Presbyterians/Congregationalists then later sold to Methodists. The building is still being maintained by a benevolent organization. Elmore was settled in the 1830s. It was originally named Rochester, but this was changed due to a municipality in Illinois already named Rochester. Many local people, even in the 21st century, still refer to Elmore as Rochester. It was recently described in a book about the Underground Railroad by Owen Muelder. It was an important stop on the Underground Railroad. Elmore City is a town in Garvin County, Oklahoma, United States. This town is fifty-eight miles south of Oklahoma City. The population was 697 at the 2010 census. It was named after J. O. Elmore. There are two main highways running through Elmore City. One of the Highways is Oklahoma State Highway 29, running west–east. The other is Oklahoma State Highway 74, running north–south. It is about 12 miles west of Wynnewood, 25.5 miles south of Purcell, and about 23 miles west of U.S. Highway 177. History The first business in Elmore City was opened by Jasper N. Black in an area just northeast of what is now Elmore City. Elmore is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. It was granted by the Vermont Republic in 1780, and was named for Colonel Samuel Elmore (1720–1805), one of the original grantees. Lake Elmore
Lake Elmore is a lake located in and named after Elmore, Vermont. The lake is located northwest of Elmore, and it drains into the Lamoille River through Elmore Pond Brook at the northern end. Recently, the lake has had a problem with milfoil, and there are several fundraisers every year to help the Milfoil Foundation, which then uses the money to pay for the milfoil's extraction. The park had its beginning in 1936 when the town of Elmore and local citizens made a gift of 30 acres on Lake Elmore to the state of Vermont. With modest means, a picnic and beach area were created. Elmore is a small town in Victoria north-east of Bendigo on the Campaspe River. Elmore is close to the Whipstick State Park. At the , Elmore had a population of 776.
