Ellie Hampson
Ellie Hampson (born 8 February 2001) is an Australian rules footballer playing for in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). From 2020 to season seven (2022), she played for . Early life Hampson grew up in Townsville and attended William Ross State High School. She grew up playing soccer and was considered an outstanding prospect. At the age of 15, she began playing Australian rules football for the Hermit Park Football Club and was a junior state representative in both sports but decided to focus on the latter due to better junior pathways. She was one of the Gold Coast Suns' three inaugural signings for the women's list and her acquisition was announced on her 18th birthday. She signed with the Gold Coast Suns Academy and relocated to the Gold Coast for the 2019 season and began playing QAFLW football for Coorparoo. Hermit Park Football Club
AFL Townsville is an amateur competition formed as the Townsville Australian Football League in 1955, the first contemporary AFL competition to be formed outside of the South East Queensland. It is based in the city of Townsville. For a short period in the 1980s, the competition was played during the summer months. The representative team is known as the Eagles and they wear similar guernseys to the Zillmere Eagles' old white and blue guernseys. History A Townsville representative team travelled to Cairns in 1884 to play one of the earliest recorded matches in Far North Queensland. Coorparoo Football Club
Coorparoo Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo from 1935 until the senior club folded in 1995. The club left the QAFL following the 1993 season due to the financial strain experienced since the recent introduction of a minimum salary cap, and joined the Brisbane Australian Football League (BAFL) for the 1994 and 1995 seasons. The "Coorparoo Junior Australian Football Club" has continued as a stand-alone club since 1996 to the present. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Richmond's headquarters and training facilities are located at its original home ground, the Punt Road Oval, which sits adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the club's playing home since 1965. Bond University AFL, nicknamed as the ''Bull Sharks'', is a Gold Coast based Australian rules football club operating out of Bond University. The club currently competes in the Queensland Football Association Division Two and the Queensland Women's Football League competitions. The club is currently one of two universities that supply teams to AFL Queensland, the other being University of Queensland. History The Bond University Football Club was formed in 2011 and entered the AFLQ Division 3 Central league for their inaugural season. 2019 AFL Women's Under 18 Championships
The 2019 NAB AFL Women's Under-18 Championships was played between May and July 2019, with six teams competing in the main 'Series 2' round-robin tournament and with a further four playing in a two-match one-on-one exhibition as the competition's initial 'Series 1' tournament. Format The competition was opened with 'Series 1', a set of closed competitions between four pairs of teams representing the country's eight largest states and territories. There are five senior women's AFL leagues in Queensland governed by AFL Queensland. The Queensland Australian Football League Women's (QAFLW) is the highest league in the State and provides elite women footballers the opportunity to play in a semi-professional environment.
