Mats Lindgren
Mats Anders Lindgren (born 1 October 1974) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey forward. He was selected in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, 15th overall, by the Winnipeg Jets, although he never had the opportunity to play for them. Despite versatility and a good on-ice work ethic, Lindgren never lived up to the offensive potential that Winnipeg had seen when they drafted him, scoring only thirteen goals in his best NHL season. In fact, in 387 games with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders and the Vancouver Canucks, Lindgren scored only 54 goals. A large reason for Lindgren's poor offensive record has been the number of injuries he has suffered. In 9 seasons playing in North America, Lindgren only played one where he missed no time due to injury. Back surgery effectively ended his career. Leksands IF
Leksands Idrottsförening is a Swedish ice hockey team from the town of Leksand in the region of Dalarna. The team plays in the top-tier league, SHL, after succeeding through the 2019 SHL qualifiers and thus earning promotion to the SHL. The club's home arena is Tegera Arena, which seats 7,650 spectators. History The club was formed on 13 August 1919, originally playing bandy and ski competitions. In 1920 they also took up football. The first hockey game was played in 1938, when they beat Mora IK 11–0, and this sport is now the only sport the club competes in. Despite the fact that the town of Leksand only has 6,000 inhabitants, Leksands IF is one of the most popular teams in Sweden, and the team averages over 4,000 spectators per game in their home arena despite playing in the second tier. Pelle Prestberg
Pelle Per-Erik Lennart Prestberg (born February 5, 1975 in Munkfors, Sweden) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player. Career Prestberg played for several minor leagues clubs in Sweden before he was signed by Färjestads BK in 1997. He was very successful in his first year with Färjestad; in 45 games he scored 29 goals and 15 assists, which still is the record for a rookie in the Swedish Elite League (Elitserien) for points and goals. In the playoffs the success continued and Prestberg scored 9 goals and 2 assists in 11 games to help Färjestad win the Swedish Championship. In the end of the season, Prestberg also made his debut in the Swedish national team. He was also drafted after the season, by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 9th round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the 233rd pick overall. Niklas Sjökvist
Niklas Sjökvist (born July 20, 1970) is a Swedish former ice hockey player. He is the father of proplayer Tobias Sjökvist. Career In 1986 Sjökvist made his debut for Bofors IK for which he played in Division 1 and Division 2. He played for Örebro IK and IF Troja-Ljungby in Division 1. Luleå Hockeyförening is an ice hockey club from Luleå, Sweden. The club has been playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden, since the 1984–85 season. They are the northernmost team in the league and have won the Swedish championships once, in 1996.
