Elitserien (men's Handball)
Handbollsligan ''(literally, "The Handball league")'' is the highest league in the league system of Swedish handball, and comprises the top 14 Swedish handball teams. The first season began in 1931–32. The season ends with a playoff. Structure The season starts in September with a regular season comprising 14 teams meeting each other twice. A total of 26 rounds. The eight best teams after the regular season qualifies for the play-off. The 14th team is relegated, and the 11th, 12th and 13th team plays matches against the second, third and fourth from Allsvenskan to qualify for next season's Handbollsligan. The season ends with the finals in the beginning of May and the winning team qualifies directly to EHF European League and the losing team qualifies for the EHF European Cup. Baltiska Hallen
Baltiska Hallen (The Baltic Hall) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Stadionområdet, Malmö, Stadionområdet area of Malmö, Sweden. It opened in 1964 in memory of the 50th anniversary of the Baltic Exhibition in 1914. The arena has a capacity of 4.000 people and is the home of HK Malmö. Kungsbacka Sporthall
Kungsbacka () (old da, Kongsbakke) is a locality and the seat of Kungsbacka Municipality in Halland County, Sweden, with 19,057 inhabitants in 2010. It is one of the most affluent parts of Sweden, in part due to its simultaneous proximity to the countryside and the large city of Gothenburg. Its mayor since 2020 is Lisa Andersson. History The first records referring to Kungsbacka as a town date from the 15th century, when it was part of Denmark. Hammarby IF Handboll
Hammarby IF Handboll is the handball section of Swedish sports club Hammarby IF from Stockholm. Hammarby IF currently play in Handbollsligan, Sweden's first tier. The club won three consecutive Swedish championships from 2006 to 2008. History The handboll section of Hammarby IF was founded on 31 October 1939. During the 1950s, the handboll section ceased its activities. The club made a comeback in the 1970s when another local team, Lundens BK, merged with the club. Hammarby were promoted to Elitserien, Sweden's top tier, for the first time in 2002. In 2003, Hammarby signed the Swedish international Staffan Olsson, who returned to his native country after a long career in Germany. In 2004–05 Hammarby reached the semifinals, eliminating IF Guif in the quarterfinals before losing to IFK Skövde in the semifinals. Eskilstuna Guif
Eskilstuna Guif is a handball club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden, which currently competes in Handbollsligan, the top domestic handball league. The club was founded in 1896 as Godtemplarnas Ungdoms- och Idrottsförening (The Good Templars' Youth and Sport Club). They have reached the Swedish Championship final four times (1997, 2001, 2009 and 2011), but lost on each occasion. They also finished first in the regular season in 2011-12 and 2013–14,Hanbollboken 2014/2015 (in swedish) but were eliminated in the semi-finals in both these seasons.
