The Elite Messieurs (translated to English: ''Elite Men''), also known as Cameroon Basketball League, is the premier basketball league for clubs in Cameroon. The league consisted out of 8 teams in the 2022–23 season. Currently, the most successful team in the league is FAP, who have won four consecutive titles between 2020 and 2023. The champions of the Elite Messieurs qualify for the Road to BAL, the qualification tournaments of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). In the most recent format, eight teams participated in the regular season where they face each other tea one time. The top four teams advance to the Final Four, where they play in a round-robin to determine the final standings. 2021 BAL Season
The 2021 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 1, was the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established as a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA, the BAL is the highest tier continental league of Africa, replacing the FIBA Africa Basketball League. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa, COVID-19 pandemic, the BAL held its inaugural season one year later as planned, with the season beginning in 2021. Initially the league planned to play in six venues in six countries; however, due to the pandemic the season was held in a bio-secure bubble in Kigali, Rwanda. CAMAIR
The Cameroon Airlines Corporation, trading as Camair-Co, is an airline from Cameroon, serving as flag carrier of the country, a role which was previously filled by the now-defunct Cameroon Airlines. Nzui Manto
Nzui-Manto is a Cameroonian basketball club based in Bangangté. Established in 2014, the club won its first Elite Messieurs title in 2016. As the champions of Cameroon, the team made its debut on the African stage when it played in the 2016 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup where they finished 10th. The broader A.S. FIBA Africa Basketball League
The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. The league was replaced by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) from 2020. History The competition was founded in 1971. A year later, in 1972, Hit Trésor SC won the inaugural championship. For the first 33 years in existence, it was a biennial league. From 2004, the ACC was held yearly.
