Elissar Zakaria Khoury ( ar, إليسار زكريا خوري; born 27 October 1972), commonly known as Elissa ( ar, إليسا), is a Lebanese recording artist. She is one of Lebanon's most famous singers, and one of the best-known artists in the Arab world. She has been among the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artists since 2005. In 2005, she became the first Lebanese singer to receive the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, an award that she received again in 2006 and 2010. She has currently sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Elissa is also one of the richest celebrities in Lebanon, with a reported estimated wealth of over $40 million. Deir El Ahmar ( ar, دير الأحمر) is a Lebanese town, located 100 km from Beirut and 22 km northwest of Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. The Beqaa Valley ( ar, links=no, وادي البقاع, ', Lebanese ), also transliterated as Bekaa, Biqâ, and Becaa and known in classical antiquity as Coele-Syria, is a fertile valley in eastern Lebanon. The Murex d'Or (also known as the Golden Murex award) is a Lebanese award created by two Lebanese physicians, Zahi and Fadi Helou to recognize achievements in the domain of art in Lebanon, the Arab region and the world.
