''Elisita'' is a 1980 Spanish dramatic film written and directed by Juan Cano Arecha. The film is a love story between a young student (Antonio) and an older woman (Elisita). Action takes place in Madrid, Spain during the Francoist State. Plot The film begins in 1980's Spain during Spain's transition to democracy. An old single woman (Elisita) sits alone in ‘The Retiro’ park in central Madrid remembering her only love story during the post civil war in Spain. Flashback takes us back to Francisco Franco's Francoist State. Elisita is an intelligent young but mature woman who lives with her rich widower and extremely Catholic mother Dona Elisa. Elisita's mother encourages her to find a husband and marry before she is too old. Antonio is a young student friend of the family who is preparing for his school exams. Imanol Arias
Manuel María Arias Domínguez (born 26 April 1956 in Riaño, León, Spain) better known as Imanol Arias, is a Spanish actor and film director. Career Imanol Arias began his career with a travelling theatre group performing in the Basque Country of northern Spain. He debuted on TV in 1976 and his first film was Humberto Solás's ''Cecilia'' (1982). In 1987 he won the prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival for the role of Eleuterio Sánchez in '' El Lute: Run for Your Life'' (El Lute: camina o revienta, 1987). Since 1976 he has appeared in some 70 different films and TV programmes. In 1996 he made his film debut as director in ''Un asunto privado''. The only other work he directed was a TV programme in 1989. Luis Eduardo Aute Gutiérrez (13 September 1943 – 4 April 2020) was a Spanish musician, singer, composer, and film director. Biography First years in the Philippines Luis Eduardo Aute was born in Manila on 13 September 1943. His father, a Catalan (from Catalonia, Spain) had worked there for a tobacco company since 1919 and married a Spanish Filipina. In his childhood, Aute studied at the De La Salle School, where he learned English and Tagalog, which is used within his family. At an early age, he showed unusual ability as a painter and sketcher. Another childhood passion was cinema; his interest in filmmaking was abetted by his parents' giving him an 8 mm camera, which he used to produce home-made movies with his friends. Francoist Spain ( es, España franquista), or the Francoist dictatorship (), was the period of Spanish history between 1939 and 1975, when Francisco Franco ruled Spain after the Spanish Civil War with the title . After his death in 1975, Spain transitioned into a democracy. During this time period, Spain was officially known as the Spanish State ().
