It shares the same meaning as the Italian feminine name it, Sole, label=none, the Romanian masculine name ro, Sorin, label=none and the Lithuanian feminine name lt, Saulė, label=none. The origin is uncertain, perhaps Etruscan or perhaps from the Latin ''alius'', " nother". Some sources trace its origin to the Greek Ἥλιος (''Hélios''), a connection categorically rejected by others. The patronymic name Eliano is similarly derived from the Roman ''cognomen''. Elio may also be ...

Concept Based on a host of speculative forward-looking statements, the company's gas-powered three-wheel concept was marketed as the ''Elio P4''; was illustrated to attain a highway mileage rating of up to 84 mpg and was to offer power windows, a power door lock, cruise control, and air conditioning, in an aerodynamic, enclosed bodywork.
