Elinborg Pálsdóttir
Elinborg Pálsdóttir (born 4 December 1996), known mononymously as Elinborg, is a Faroese singer-songwriter. Born and raised in the small town of Syðrugøta, she released her first EP album in 2015. Her musical output spans several genres, such as electronic, folk, world, and country. Career In August 2015, she released her first album of four songs, written by herself in Faroese. The album, titled Spor, was produced by Høgni Lisberg. In the same year, she performed at the G! Festival. Ever since Elinborg released her first album, she has been a regular on the live circuit around the Faroe Islands. In 2016, she performed at the summer festival Ólavsøka and Voxbotn, and won Best Live Act of The Year, at the Faroese Music Awards (FMA). Syðrugøta
Syðrugøta ( da, Sydregøte) is a village on the east coast of the Faroese island of Eysturoy in Eystur Municipality. The December 2022 population was 491. Its postal code is FO 513. The famous Faroese singer Eivør Pálsdóttir was born here in 1983. Also Tróndur í Gøtu, the most famous Faroe Islander of the Viking age in Faroese history, is said to have lived in the village. Many stories and facts back up that claim. Several excavations have shown that Syðrugøta is one of the oldest settlements in the Faroe Islands. During many excavations up to the latest one in 2006, remains from the first settlements have been found. Trond Bersu
Trond Bersu (born 4 January 1984 in Skjåk, Norway) is a Norwegian drummer and producer. Career During his music studies on the Jazz program at the Trondheim musikkonservatorium Bersu started the band PELbO together with fellow students Ine Hoem and Kristoffer Lo. Their self titled debut album was nominated for the 2010 Open class Spellemannprisen. The second album release was ''Days Of Transcendence'' (2011). In Trondheim he also collaborated with another fellow student Ingrid Helene Håvik and later on when established in Oslo, they started the band Highasakite together. Tróndur Bogason
Tróndur Bogason (born 5 April 1976 as Tróndur Bogason Hansen) is a Faroese composer and musician. He composes classical works, but he also arranges music for pop, rock and folk artists. He is married to the Faroese singer Eivør Pálsdóttir with whom he also works; they arranged her album Room together. Bogason was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He has been nominated three times for the Nordic Council Music Prize and is one of the few who have received a three-year grant from Mentanargrunnur Landsins. Career He was born and grew up in the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn. In the nineties he moved to Copenhagen to study. While living in Denmark he played an active role in Faroese music amongst other Faroese musicians in Copenhagen. Eivør Pálsdóttir (pronounced ; born 21 July 1983), known mononymously as Eivør, is a Faroese singer-songwriter and actress. Born and raised in Syðrugøta, she had her first televised performance at the age of 13. Over the course of her decades-long career, her musical output has spanned a wide range of genres such as folk, art pop, jazz, folk rock, classical and electronica. Career In 1999, at the age of 15, she became the lead singer in Clickhaze. The following year, she released her first self-titled album, ''Eivør Pálsdóttir''. Faroese Music Awards (short form: FMA, in Faroese: Føroysku Tónlistavirðislønirnar) is a Faroese music prize award ceremony, which was established in 2014, after the former Faroese music prize Planet Awards was abolished when the producers Portal.fo were sold to new owners. Faroese Music Awards is a cooperation between the Faroese national broadcasting company Kringvarp Føroya, the newspaper Sosialurin, the internet portal In.fo and the Nordic House. The Faroese Music Awards were presented for the first time on 15 March 2014 in the Nordic House in Tórshavn, where 22 prizes were awarded. G! Festival
The G! Festival (commonly known as G!, in Faroese also called G! Festivalur or G! Festivalurin) is a Faroese musical festival, held annually at the seaside village Gøta on Eysturoy in mid or late July, but always before the Ólavsøka. It is one of the two largest music festivals on the Faroe Islands, the other being Summarfestivalurin. It was founded by Sólarn Solmunde and musician Jón Tyril, both locals. Jón is also the present chairman of the festival. The G! Festival is an innovative cultural event which has been well received. Høgni Lisberg
Høgni Lisberg (born 7 June 1982) is a Faroese musician. Band and personal history Høgni was born in 1982 and is son of Sørin Lisberg and Hallbjørg Eliassen. His father is son of Knút Lisberg, who is cousin to Jens Olivur Lisberg (1896–1920) where his great-grandfather, and thus Jens Olivurs uncle, lived Johan í Smiðjuni. Høgni lived together with his two younger sisters in Leirvík, where he grew up. He moved to Copenhagen in 2004. Høgni Lisberg, also known from ethno-rock band Clickhaze fame, released his first solo album, ''Most Beautiful Things'' in 2003. The album reached number 2 on Tutl Records’ sales charts on the Faroe Islands.
