Elin Segerlind
Elin Maria Segerlind (born 1985) is a Swedish politician and former member of the Riksdag, the national legislature. A member of the Left Party, she represented Västra Götaland County North between September 2018 and September 2022. Segerlind is the daughter of shop worker Dennis Segerlind and nurse Carina Segerlind. She was educated in Nödinge and studied literature and cultural studies at Umeå University. Västra Götaland County North (Riksdag Constituency)
Västra Götaland County North ( sv, Västra Götalands Läns Norra) is one of the 29 multi-member constituencies of the Riksdag, the national legislature of Sweden. The constituency was established as Älvsborg County North in 1970 when the Riksdag changed from a bicameral legislature to a unicameral legislature. It was renamed Västra Götaland County North in 1998 when the counties of Älvsborg, Gothenburg and Bohus and Skaraborg were merged to create Västra Götaland. The constituency currently consists of the municipalities of Åmål, Bengtsfors, Dals-Ed, Färgelanda, Lysekil, Mellerud, Munkedal, Orust, Sotenäs, Strömstad, Tanum, Trollhättan, Uddevalla and Vänersborg. The Left Party ( sv, Vänsterpartiet ; V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatizations and advocates increased public expenditure. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being opposed to the European Union, NATO, and Swedish entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and also supports anti-racism, feminism, and republicanism.
