Elias Poutanen
Elias Poutanen (also known by his alias ''Olmoor'') is a former host/computer-game critic. He has worked for the magazine ''Pelaaja'' and for a number of related television programmes. Though officially a Finnish citizen, he was born in Australia. He started out as the replacement for Thomas Puha who previously hosted the programme called ''Play'' on MoonTV. The name of the show was changed to ''Player'' during this transition. He became noted by some fans as the channel's ''cute nerd''. He remained the official host for all console-gaming involved shows until MoonTV's cancellation in the early summer of 2003. After MoonTV's demise, Poutanen appeared only abruptly on television. Though he resurfaced as a critic on the show ''Play'' on Nelonen, hosted by former MoonTV personnel, Thomas Puha and Miika Huttunen. ''Pelaaja'' ("Gamer") is a Finnish video games magazine published 11 times a year by H-Town. ''Pelaaja'' turned 15 years old in 2017. Pelaaja covers both PCs and consoles, although between 2003 and 2007 it focused only on consoles. During that time the PC coverage was in a separate magazine named ''PCPelaaja'', now defunct. Its editor-in-chief was Miika Huttunen, who is the current editor-in-chief of Pelaaja. History and profile ''Pelaaja'' was started by 2002. The longest running editor-in-chief of Pelaaja was Thomas Puha. MoonTV
MoonTV was a free Finnish cable network channel. It started off as a channel for programmes about computer and video games but later grew into a channel covering several areas of youth culture. In its prime it was the first interactive TV channel in the world. At its best MoonTV could reach 1.3 million potential viewers in the 12 biggest cities across Finland. In 2003 the channel was shut down after the company that owned it filed for bankruptcy. MoonTV was relaunched in 2010 online with new hosts and a new program line-up. People Mika Koivula and Hannu and Pekka Kossila were the founding members of MoonTV. Koivula came up with the name "MoonTV" back in 1996. Pekka Kossila was in charge of creating economical interactive TV formats which were the core of the channel when it started its test broadcasts in November 1996. Nelonen
Nelonen () is a Finnish commercial television channel. It started out as Helsinki's local television channel PTV in 1990 on the HTV cable network (now part of DNA Welho), and changed its name first to PTV4. On June 1, 1997, the channel expanded to national coverage and changed its name to Nelonen, the Finnish name of the number four. Nelonen is mostly owned by Sanoma Corporation, which owns the ''Helsingin Sanomat'' and '' Ilta-Sanomat'' newspapers. Its largest owner was Aatos Erkko. Miika Huttunen
Miika Huttunen (also known as ''druidi Huttunen'') is the editor-in-chief of the Finnish gaming magazine ''Pelaaja''. Prior to this he was a host of certain game-related television programmes primarily on the now defunct MoonTV cable channel. He became recognised for hosting ''Peliuutiset'' (Game News) and continued hosting related topics on the more important shows such as ''Player'' and ''PC-Peliluola''. He also hosted URL, infamously one of the last 15-minute shows on the channel alongside current editor-in-chief of Pelaaja, Thomas Puha. Unlike all other shows that Huttunen was in, URL was dedicated to the showing off and reviewing and/or insulting of web sites sent by fans. Jarno Sarkula
Jarno Sarkula (4 August 1973 – 12 July 2020) was a Finnish musician and one-time TV-personality. Sarkula was born in Vantaa. As a musician, he first became known with the band Höyry-kone ("Steam-Engine"). Sarkula wrote music for the band and played the bass and woodwinds. The music of the band took influences from e.g. the opera. In 1997, Sarkula founded the band Alamaailman Vasarat together with Teemu Hänninen. After developing the band's music for a couple of years, they began to play in public. The band took its influences from jazz, classical music, rock and klezmer. The result can be categorized as world music, and the band said that they played music from the fictitious continent of Vasaraasia. The band played concerts in e.g. the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, France, Mexico and Japan.
