Eli Alva Helmick
Major General Eli Alva Helmick (September 23, 1863 – January 13, 1945) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served in World War I, among other conflicts, and received the Distinguished Service Medal. Military career Helmick was born in Quaker, Indiana on September 23, 1863. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York, in June 1888. John Louis Hayden
John Louis Hayden (November 2, 1866 – February 22, 1936) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served in several conflicts, including World War I. Biography Hayden was born in Chicago in 1866. His father was an American Civil War veteran who served in the 19th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Hayden graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1888. Hayden was commissioned into the First Artillery, and he served at various locations, including at the Presidio of San Francisco, Fort Canby, Fort Columbus, and Fort Riley. From the latter location, Hayden was detached to serve in the Ghost Dance War in command of the Hotchkiss revolving cannon. He participated in the Battle of Wounded Knee and the Drexel Mission Fight, and because of his actions in the latter battle, Major Guy Vernor Henry recommended him for brevet promotion, something that General Nelson A. William Voorhees Judson (16 February 1865 – 29 March 1923) was an American Brigadier general, who served as a military aide with the Root Mission to the Russian Provisional Government. Henry Jervey Jr
Henry Jervey (June 5, 1866 – September 30, 1942) was an officer in the United States Army who served as director, Operations Division, General Staff, during World War I. In 1917, he wrote the book ''Warfare of the Future''. At the outbreak of World War I, Jervey was appointed brigadier general and served both as brigade and division commander. Later, he became assistant to General Peyton C. March, chief of staff in Washington. He was promoted to major general and made director, Operations Division, General Staff.
