Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad
The Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad ( bn, একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ, translit= ēkadasha jatīẏa saṅsada, lit=Eleventh National Parliament) was formed with the elected members of the 2018 Bangladeshi general election. The Parliament was sworn in on the 3rd January 2019. On seventh January the Cabinet of Bangladesh, Ministers were sworn in. On the January 30th first session of the parliament took place. Out of the 350 seats 300 members are directly elected by the people and rest 50 seats are reserved for women and are filled by proportional representation. Awami League won 258 seats out of the 300 seats and formed the government under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina Jatiya Party (Ershad), Jatiya Party got 22 seats and became the main opposition party. Rowshan Ershad
Roushan Ershad (born 19 July 1943) is a Jatiya Party (Ershad), Bangladesh Jatiya Party politician. She is the current Jatiya Sangsad member from Mymensingh-4 constituency and the incumbent Leader of the Opposition (Bangladesh), Leader of the Opposition in the 2018 Bangladeshi general election, 11th parliament. She is the Chief Patron of the Jatiya Party (Ershad) and the widow of former Bangladesh president Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Political Career As the First Lady during 1982–1990, Ershad was active in social welfare and in promoting the rights of women and children. She was the chief patron of the Bangladesh Jatiya Mohila Sangstha. In 1975, Ershad became the founder-president of the Sena Paribar Kalliyan Samity (Armed Forces Family Welfare Association). Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury (born 6 October 1966) is the current and the first female Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad since April 2013. At 46 years of age, she became the youngest to assume the office. She was also the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association between 2014 and 2017. She previously served as the state minister of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of Bangladesh. Early life Chaudhury was born on 6 October 1966 in Chatkhil thana of Noakhali, Bangladesh. Her father, Rafiqullah Chaudhury, was a Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP) officer and Secretary to the Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1972.
