''Eleven Pairs of Boots'' (Spanish: ''Once pares de botas'') is a 1954 Spanish comedy sports film directed by Francisco Rovira Beleta and starring José Suárez, Mari Carmen Pardo and Elisa Montés.Bentley p.128 Plot Laura, the daughter of the director of Club Deportivo Hispania, manages to sign the promising player Ariza, who comes from the little town of Valmoral de la Sierra. The spark arises between them but Laura has another suitor, the player Mario Valero. Valero, full of jealousy, allows himself to be bribed to make his team lose. Ariza discovers his plans and can think of no better solution to avoid defeat than to injure Valero. Ariza is left as a savage, everyone turns their back on him and he has to leave the team, but finally the truth is discovered and he is rehabilitated. Francisco Rovira Beleta (Barcelona, 1913 – 23 June 1999) was a twice Academy Award nominee Spanish screenwriter and film director. Fernando Vallejo Rendón (born 1942 in Medellín, Colombia) is a Colombian-born novelist, filmmaker and essayist. He obtained Mexican nationality in 2007. Biography Vallejo was born and raised in Medellín, though he left his hometown early in life. He started studies in Philosophy at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, but after one year he abandoned the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. Soon after he began new studies on biology at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, which he finished. Then he spent one year in Italy at the film academy Cinecittà, where he obtained basic notions on cinema. Vallejo then returned to Colombia with the project of filmmaking. Josep Samitier Vilalta (; 2 February 1902 – 4 May 1972), also known as José Samitier, was a Spanish football player, manager and scout who played as a midfielder for FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, OGC Nice, the Catalan XI, and Spain. Mariano Martín Alonso (20 October 1919 – 9 September 1998) was a Spanish footballer who played as a striker. Club career Martín was born in Dueñas, Palencia. After his beginnings with Peña Font, already in Barcelona, he joined FC Barcelona in 1939, proceeding to become one of the club's most prolific scorers; during his nine seasons at Barcelona, he netted 128 times in only 150 matches, including 30 in 23 contests in his fourth season, although ''Barça'' finished in third place. In early 1944, whilst appearing in a friendly match for Catalonia, Martín suffered a severe knee ligament injury, from which he never fully recovered. However, as he played in only 29 La Liga games in his last three seasons combined, he still managed to score on 14 occasions. Martín closed out his career in 1952, after one year apiece with Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Real Zaragoza and as many with his second club, UE Sant Andreu. Antoni Ramallets Simón (1 July 1924 – 30 July 2013) was a Spanish football goalkeeper and manager. He spent most of his career at FC Barcelona, during the 1950s and early 1960s, winning the Ricardo Zamora Trophy as the best goalkeeper in La Liga on five occasions, and 18 major club honours.
