Elena Denisova
Elena Denisova (Елена Денисова; born February 14, 1963, in Moscow) is a Russian violinist and festival director. She emigrated to Austria and has been an Austrian citizen since 1992. Life The musical career of Denisova started at the age of four. The daughter of a geological scientist and a housewife attended the music school at Moscow Conservatory after which she went to the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory. At the age of eleven she appeared in her first CD recording. After her studies with the violin virtuosos and David Oistrach pupils Valery Klimov and Oleg Kagan followed a soloist engagement at the Moscow State Philharmonic. Afterwards she moved to Austria in the year 1990 where she worked at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and the festival "Carinthian Summer". Joseph Rheinberger
Josef Gabriel Rheinberger (17 March 1839 – 25 November 1901) was a Liechtensteiner organist and composer, residing in Bavaria for most of his life. Life Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, whose father was the treasurer for Aloys II, Prince of Liechtenstein, showed exceptional musical talent at an early age. When only seven years old, he was already serving as organist of the Vaduz parish church, and his first composition was performed the following year. In 1849, he studied with composer Philipp M. Schmutzer (31 December 1821 – 17 November 1898) in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg. Bernhard Paumgartner (born 14 November 1887 in Vienna; died 27 July 1971 in Salzburg) was an Austrian conductor, composer and musicologist. He is most famous for being Herbert von Karajan's composition teacher at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he recognized his pupil's potential gifts for conducting. Jascha Heifetz (; December 10, 1987) was a Russian-born American violinist. Born in Vilnius, he moved while still a teenager to the United States, where his Carnegie Hall debut was rapturously received. He was a virtuoso since childhood. Fritz Kreisler, another leading violinist of the twentieth century, said after hearing Heifetz's debut, "We might as well take our fiddles and break them across our knees." He had a long and successful performing career; however, after an injury to his right (bowing) arm, he switched his focus to teaching. Late in life, Heifetz became a dedicated teacher and a champion of socio-political causes. He publicly advocated to establish 9-1-1 as an emergency phone number, and crusaded for clean air. Johann Baptist Joseph Maximilian Reger (19 March 187311 May 1916) was a German composer, pianist, organist, conductor, and academic teacher. Alexander Zemlinsky or Alexander von Zemlinsky (14 October 1871 – 15 March 1942) was an Austrian composer, conductor, and teacher. Biography Early life Zemlinsky was born in Vienna to a highly diverse family. Zemlinsky's grandfather, Anton Semlinski, emigrated from Žilina, Hungary (now in Slovakia) to Austria and married an Austrian woman. Both were from staunchly Roman Catholic families, and Alexander's father, Adolf, was raised as a Catholic. Alexander's mother was born in Sarajevo to a Sephardic Jewish father and a Bosniak mother. Alexei Kornienko (russian: Алексей Корниенко, born 5 May 1954 in Moscow) is an Austrian conductor and pianist of Russian descent. Biography Kornienko's musical education started at the age of 5. After musical studies in Kharkov and in Kiev Kornienko entered the '' Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory'' in 1972 to study in the piano class of Yakov Zak.
