Elen (saint)
Saint Elen ( cy, Elen Luyddog, lit. "Helen of the Hosts"), often anglicized as Helen, was a late 4th-century founder of churches in Wales. Traditionally, she is said to have been a daughter of the Romano-British ruler Octavius / Eudaf Hen (and therefore sister of Conan Meriadoc) and the wife of Magnus Maximus / Macsen Wledig, the 4th-century emperor in Britain, Gaul, and Spain who was killed in battle in 388. Although never formally canonized by Rome, Elen is traditionally considered a saint in the Welsh Church; in English she is sometimes known as Saint Helen of Caernarfon to distinguish her from Saint Helena ("Helen of Constantinople"). Church tradition Elen was mother of five, including a boy named Custennin or Cystennin (Constantine). She lived about sixty years later than Helena of Constantinople, the mother of Constantine the Great, with whom she has often been confused. Elen Ferch Llywelyn
Elen ferch Llywelyn (c. 1207 – 1253) was the daughter of Llywelyn the Great of Gwynedd in North Wales by Joan, Lady of Wales, the natural daughter of King John of England. Elen married John of Scotland, 9th Earl of Huntingdon, in about 1222. He died aged thirty in 1237, and she was forced by King Henry III (her mother's half-brother) to marry Sir Robert de Quincy, the son of Saer de Quincy. Their daughter, Hawise, married Baldwin Wake, Lord Wake of Liddell. Hawise's granddaughter, Margaret Wake, was the mother of Joan of Kent, the first English Princess of Wales. Elen Dosia (1915 – 10 May 2002), born Hélène Odette Zygomala, sometimes known as Ellen Dosia, was a French opera singer of Greek origin. Dosia was born in Istanbul, then in the Ottoman Empire. She became a soprano singer, and enjoyed her first major success at age 20 with the title part in ''Tosca''. She quickly became one of the most popular singers at Opéra Garnier and Opéra-Comique, where she performed from 1935 through 1952. Before World War II she was described as "the most popular singer in the world". She appeared often in Massenet operas, performing in '' Manon'' and ''Thaïs'', and appearing at the June 1942 Massenet Gala singing the title role in a tableau of ''Esclarmonde''. In 1951 she appeared in the documentary ''Of Men and Music'', singing excerpts from Salome's part in '' Hérodiade''. Elen Levon (born 13 July 1994, in Ukraine) is a Ukrainian- Australian singer, actress and dancer. Early life Elen Levon was born on 13 July 1994 in Ukraine and moved to Sydney, Australia with her family shortly after she was born. She started ballet classes and learning other genres of dance aged three. Her mother was in the fashion industry, so Levon modeled and walked the catwalk at her mother's and friends' fashion shows. At the age of six, Levon found out she could sing and decided it was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She joined a performing arts school where she could further her skills, which led to her training in all styles of dance including ballet, dance, musical theatre, singing and acting. Career Levon received her first management deal at the age of 13. The European Language Equality Network (ELEN) is an international non-governmental organization that is active at the European level which works to protect and promote European lesser-used languages ( lesser-used languages), i.e. regional languages, minority languages, endangered languages, co-official languages and national languages of small nations.
