The 'Elektriciteits Produktiemaatschappij Zuid-Nederland (EPZ), or ''Electricity Production Company South-Netherlands'' is the operator of the coal- and nuclear power plants located in Borssele in the Netherlands. Borssele nuclear power plant is the only operational nuclear power plant in the Netherlands. EPZ is 70% owned by Delta and 30% owned by Energy Resources Holding (ERH). ERH was property of several local governments in the Netherlands, but was acquired in 2011 by RWE as part of the deal to take over the Dutch energy company Essent Essent N.V. is a Dutch energy company based in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. Borssele
Borssele is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Borsele, and lies about 12 km east of Vlissingen. Note that the municipality name is spelled with a single ''s'' while the name of the town is spelled with a double ''s''. Borssele is home to the Borssele nuclear power plant. The village's near-symmetrical street plan from 1616 follows a rectangular design with four streets all leading to a central square (called the "Plein"). The streets are named according to their cardinal directions. History The village was first mentioned in 976 as Brumsale, and means "single room house on the bank". The island of Borssele was lost in 1530 and only the hill on which the castle had stood remained. The village of Monster which was located on the island had been destroyed. In 1615, a dike was built to reclaim the land. Borssele is a planned ''polder'' village which was designed in 1616 by Cornelis Adriaensz Soetwater. The Dutch Reformed chu ...

Borssele Nuclear Power Station
The Borssele Nuclear Power Station (''Kerncentrale Borssele'') is a nuclear power plant near the Dutch town of Borssele. It has a pressurised water reactor (PWR). Borssele is the only nuclear power plant still operational for electricity production in the Netherlands. Its net output is 485 MWe. History The Borssele nuclear power plant was built by Siemens and has been operational since 1973. Originally it was built primarily to supply relatively cheap electricity to an aluminum smelting facility, opened by French concern Pechiney at a nearby site in 1971, that for many years used two-thirds of the output of the power plant. In 2006, the installation of a modern steam turbine brought the original electrical output of 449 MW up to 485 MW. Nuclear fuel In July 2011, Borssele received permission from the government to burn MOX fuel. Currently, the uranium used by Borssele comes from Kazakhstan. Radioactive waste Areva NC reprocesses the spent fissionable material. Par ...

DELTA N
The Delta N or Thor-Delta N was an American expendable launch system used for nine orbital launches between 1968 and 1972. It was a member of the Delta family of rockets, and the last Delta to be given an alphabetical designation - subsequent rockets were designated using a four digit numerical code. The Delta N consisted of two stages. The first stage was the Long Tank Thor, a stretched version of the Thor missile, previously flown on the Delta L and Delta M. Three Castor-2 solid rocket boosters were attached to increase thrust at lift-off. A Delta E was used as the second stage. If an increased payload capacity was required, six boosters were flown instead of three, in a configuration known as the Delta N6, or "Super Six". Three launches used the N6 configuration. Delta N rockets were launched from Launch Complex 17A at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and SLC-2 at Vandenberg AFB Vandenberg Space Force Base , previously Vandenberg Air Force Base, is a United Stat ...

Energy Resources Holding
In physics, energy (from Ancient Greek: ἐνέργεια, ''enérgeia'', “activity”) is the quantitative property that is transferred to a body or to a physical system, recognizable in the performance of work and in the form of heat and light. Energy is a conserved quantity—the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. The unit of measurement for energy in the International System of Units (SI) is the joule (J). Common forms of energy include the kinetic energy of a moving object, the potential energy stored by an object (for instance due to its position in a field), the elastic energy stored in a solid object, chemical energy associated with chemical reactions, the radiant energy carried by electromagnetic radiation, and the internal energy contained within a thermodynamic system. All living organisms constantly take in and release energy. Due to mass–energy equivalence, any object that has mass when s ...
