Electric Soup (album)
''Electric Soup'' a.k.a. ''Electric Soup: The Singles Collection'' is the first compilation album by Australian rock group Hoodoo Gurus and released in August 1992. The album peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Charts, and was certified triple platinum. For the Electric Soup Tour in November of that year, Hoodoo Gurus were supported by Died Pretty and the Welcome Mat. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1993, the Best Cover Art category was awarded to Paul McNeil and Richard All for ''Electric Soup'' / ''Gorilla Biscuit''. At the ARIA Music Awards ''Electric Soup'' was noted as BMG's biggest selling domestic album of the year. The album was re-released by Mushroom Records in 1999. Hoodoo Gurus
Hoodoo Gurus are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1981, by the mainstay Dave Faulkner (songwriter, lead singer and guitarist) and later joined by Richard Grossman (bass), Mark Kingsmill (drums), and Brad Shepherd (guitar, vocals, harmonica). Their popularity peaked in the mid- to late 1980s with albums ''Mars Needs Guitars!'', ''Blow Your Cool!'' and ''Magnum Cum Louder''. Hoodoo Gurus had a string of pop-rock singles including " Leilani" (1982), " Tojo" (1983), " My Girl" (1983), "I Want You Back" (1984), " Bittersweet", "Like Wow – Wipeout", and " What's My Scene?". "I Want You Back" is a song by Australian rock group Hoodoo Gurus, released in March 1984 as the fourth and final single from their debut album ''Stoneage Romeos''. "I Want You Back" was written by Dave Faulkner. Its B-side, "Who Do You Love?" (a.k.a. "Hoodoo You Love?") was recorded live at 2JJJ. The 7" single and video clip version of the song is an edit that removes the second half of the double verse usually heard before the first chorus. To date the regular album version has been used on all subsequent Hoodoo Gurus compilations.
