Electoral District Of Mount Ommaney
Mount Ommaney is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created with the 1992 redistribution. It covers the western suburbs of Brisbane south of the Brisbane River. The Western Arterial Road runs through the middle of the seat from north to south. The suburb is split by the industrial suburb of Seventeen Mile Rocks between the older suburbs around Corinda in the east and the more recent areas around Mount Ommaney. A significant population of elderly voters are found in the Sinnamon Village retirement complex in Sinnamon Park. Jess Pugh
Jessica Claire Pugh (born 29 May 1985) is an Australian politician. She has been the Labor member for Mount Ommaney in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since the 2017 Queensland election. Early life and education Born in Brisbane, Pugh attended Cannon Hill Anglican College and she has a Bachelor of Business from the Queensland University of Technology majoring in International Business and Management. Career After graduating in 2007, Pugh worked in the role of Ministerial Adviser in Disability Services, Local Government and Main Roads until 2011. She left to work as an events manager of Restaurant Two, a fine dining institution headed by her father, renowned restaurateur David Pugh, until the restaurant closed in December 2016. Sinnamon was an American female R&B vocal trio, consisting of Connecticut natives Barbara Fowler, Marsha Carter, and Melissa Bell from New York City. Westlake is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Westlake had a population of 4,368 people. Geography Westlake adjoins the suburbs of Riverhills, Middle Park and Mount Ommaney. History Westlake was developed as part of the Hooker Centenary Project which commenced in 1959. It and the surrounding suburbs such as Jindalee are known as the Centenary Suburbs. It was officially named by the Queensland Place Names Board on 8 January 1973 with its boundaries determined on 11 August 1975. Oxley is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Oxley had a population of 8,336 people. Oxley is located approximately from the Brisbane CBD, but it is from the Brisbane GPO by road. The suburb contains a mix of residential and industrial land. Middle Park is a residential south-western suburb in the Centenary Suburbs in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Middle Park had a population of 3,955 people. Geography Middle Park is located by road south-west of the Brisbane GPO. Jindalee is a south-western residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Jindalee had a population of 5,320 people. Geography Jindalee is by road south-west of the Brisbane CBD, and is a part of the Centenary suburbs. It is bordered by the Brisbane River to the north. The Centenary Motorway enters the suburb from the north (Kenmore), crossing the river on the Centenary Bridge (), and forms the south-eastern boundary of the suburb before exiting on the south-east corner of the suburb into Mount Ommaney / Sinnamon Park. Tarnya Lisa Smith (born 17 March 1965) is an Australian politician. She was a Liberal National member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2017, representing the electorate of Mount Ommaney. The Liberal Party of Australia (Queensland Division), branded as Liberal Queensland, was the Queensland division of the Liberal Party of Australia until 2008.
