Division Of Werriwa
The Division of Werriwa is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. The name Werriwa derives from a local Aboriginal name for Lake George, which was located in the division when it was established in 1900. The division was one of the original 65 divisions first contested at the first federal election. Werriwa now covers an area in south-west Sydney, including the suburbs of Ashcroft, Austral, Bonnyrigg Heights, Busby, Carnes Hill, Cartwright, Casula, Cecil Hills, Edmondson Park, Glenfield, Green Valley, Heckenberg, Hinchinbrook, Horningsea Park, Hoxton Park, Long Point, Lurnea, Macquarie Fields, Macquarie Links, Middleton Grange, Miller, Minto, Prestons, Sadleir, and West Hoxton; as well as parts of Badgerys Creek, Bonnyrigg, Bringelly, Cecil Park, Denham Court, Ingleburn, Kemps Creek, Leppington, Mount Pritchard, and Rossmore. Anne Stanley (politician)
Anne Maree Stanley (; born 6 October 1961) is an Australian politician. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and has served in the House of Representatives since the 2016 federal election, representing the Division of Werriwa. She previously served on the Liverpool City Council from 2008 to 2016. Early life Stanley was born in Sydney, one of two daughters born to Margaret () and William Mee. Her parents were both ALP supporters, and her mother worked for the Building Workers' Industrial Union of Australia. Prior to entering politics, Stanley worked as a bank officer for nearly 30 years. Laurie Donald Thomas Ferguson (born 7 July 1952) is a former Australian politician who was an Australian Labor Party member of the House of Representatives from March 1990, representing Reid until 2010 and Werriwa until May 2016, both in New South Wales. Early life and education Laurie Ferguson grew up in Guildford, the eldest son of Mary Ellen and Jack Ferguson, who was deputy premier of New South Wales 1976–84. His brother Martin was also a federal MP. Both attended at St Patrick's College, Strathfield. His younger brother, Andrew, was the former NSW Secretary of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (Construction and General Division). Chris Hayes (politician)
Christopher Patrick Hayes (born 17 July 1955) is a former Australian Labor Party politician who served as the member of parliament for Werriwa from 2005 to 2010 and then as the member for Fowler from 2010 to 2022, when he retired from politics. Hayes held the position of Returning Officer for the Labor Caucus, in which he oversaw elections, including the 2013 leadership spill/ballot in June. He released the official votes between Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd. Early life and education Hayes was educated at De La Salle College, Revesby and University of Sydney. He has a Diploma in Labour Relations and Law.
