Alfred Bennett (Australian Politician)
Alfred Ernest Bennett (25 July 1906 – 15 April 1976) was an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1965, representing the electorate of Nepean. Bennett was born in Cargo, and educated at various Roman Catholic schools in New South Wales. He was a motor body builder and carpenter by trade. He was involved in trade unionism, being associated with the Building Workers' Industrial Union and serving as a delegate to the Labor Council of New South Wales. He also served in local government as an alderman of the City of Penrith from 1960 to 1962. Bennett was selected to contest the local seat of Nepean for Labor at the 1962 state election. An electoral redistribution had changed the long-time Liberal seat into a notional Labor seat, and Bennett won a tight race against the incumbent Liberal member, Bill Chapman. Ron Rofe
Ronald Ernest Arthur Rofe (1914 – 21 September 2003) was an Australian politician and member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1973 until 1978. He was a member of the Liberal Party. Rofe was born in Camden where his family had been farming for some generations. He continued this tradition as a dairy farmer in the district. He was a prominent member and district governor of the Lions Club. He was the Deputy Shire President of Wollondilly Shire Council in 1971–74. A redistribution of Legislative Assembly seats prior to the 1973 election changed the seat of Nepean from a marginal ALP seat to a notionally conservative seat. The sitting member Ron Mulock decided to contest the safer seat of Penrith and Rofe was selected as the Liberal candidate. He won the election with 53% of the two party preferred vote. Ron Mulock
Ronald Joseph Mulock AO KCSG (11 January 1930 – 4 September 2014) was an Australian politician. A former City of Penrith mayor, he was an Australian Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1971 to 1988. He was Deputy Premier of New South Wales under Neville Wran and Barrie Unsworth from 1984 to 1988. Early years Ron Mulock was born in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst on 11 January 1930 and baptised a Catholic. His surname at birth was Moore but he was fostered at ten months to Elizabeth Mulock (née Goode). She adopted Ron when he was 14. He was educated at St Declan’s in Penshurst and De La Salle College (now Casimir Catholic College), Marrickville. Mulock was an outstanding sportsman at school and subsequently played first grade cricket between 1949 and 1962 for the St George, Waverley and Cumberland Clubs.
