Miller is an Queensland Legislative Assembly electoral districts, electoral district of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution. It was named after Emma Miller, a labour and suffrage activist and is represented by Mark Bailey (politician), Mark Bailey of the Labor Party. Mark Bailey (politician)
Mark Craig Bailey is an Australian politician currently serving as the Minister for Transport and Main Roads of Queensland. He has also served as the Labor member for Miller (formerly Yeerongpilly) in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2015. Early life Bailey was a high school teacher in history and drama and has worked in transport, gambling, liquor and racing policy for the Queensland state government. Political career Bailey was elected to Brisbane City Council in 1994, representing the ward of Moorooka during the Soorley Administration until his resignation in 2003. Member of Parliament At the 2015 election he won the seat of Yeerongpilly from the LNP with a 14.7% swing, making it a safe Labor seat. Moorooka is a southern suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Moorooka had a population of 10,368 people. Geography Moorooka is by road south of Brisbane's central business district. Ipswich Road enters the suburb from the north ( Annerley) and exits to the south-west (Rocklea). Beaudesert Road splits from Ipswich Road within the suburb and exits to the south (Rocklea). Annerley is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Annerley had a population of 11,336 people. Annerley is located by road south of the Brisbane GPO. Geography Much of the suburb is elevated, lying on a ridge that gives views of the city.
