Electoral District Of Lee
Lee is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. Named after the women's suffrage campaigner Mary Lee, it is an 18.9 km² suburban electorate on Adelaide's north-western beaches, taking in the suburbs of Grange, Royal Park, Seaton, Semaphore Park, Tennyson, West Lakes, and West Lakes Shore. Lee was created as a fairly safe Labor electorate in the 1991 electoral distribution to replace the abolished electoral district of Albert Park and absorbed half of the abolished electoral district of Semaphore. The first member for Lee, elected at the 1993 election, was controversial Liberal MP Joe Rossi, with the governments smallest margin of 1.1 percent; Rossi's election was unexpected, but was part of a large swing away from Labor throughout the state. Stephen Campbell Mullighan is an Australian politician representing the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Lee for the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party since the 2014 state election. __NOTOC__ Tennyson is a suburb in the Australian state of South Australia located in the Adelaide metropolitan area about north-west of the Adelaide city centre and about west of the municipal seat of Woodville. Tennyson consists of a strip of land on the east coast of Gulf St Vincent extending from a beach with a frontage of sand dunes in the west for a distance of about to the west side of the artificial lake known as West Lakes in the east. It borders West Lakes for the full length of the part of the lake where a rowing course is located. Its northern boundary is located just north of Estcourt Road while it is bounded in the south by Fort Street. Tennyson's boundaries were created on 30 September 1976 for land which includes the Town of Tennyson at its southern end. 2014 South Australian State Election
The 2014 South Australian state election elected members to the 53rd Parliament of South Australia on 15 March 2014, to fill all 47 seats in the House of Assembly (lower house) and 11 of 22 seats in the Legislative Council (upper house). The 12-year-incumbent Australian Labor Party (SA) government, led by Premier Jay Weatherill, won its fourth consecutive four-year term in government, a record 16 years of Labor government, defeating the opposition Liberal Party of Australia (SA), led by Opposition Leader Steven Marshall. 2012 Port Adelaide State By-election
A by-election occurred in the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Port Adelaide on 11 February 2012. Labor's Susan Close won the seat on a 52.9 percent two-candidate-preferred (TCP) vote. The by-election was triggered by the resignation of former Deputy Premier, Treasurer and state Labor MHA Kevin Foley. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield, located across inner north and north-western suburbs of Adelaide, is one of the largest metropolitan councils within South Australia. It was established on 26 March 1996 by the amalgamation of the City of Port Adelaide and the City of Enfield. Michael John Wright (born 3 May 1956) is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Lee from 1997 to 2014. Wright has a Bachelor of Education, and held ministry positions in the Rann cabinet from 2002 to 2011. State elections were held in South Australia on 11 October 1997. All 47 seats in the South Australian House of Assembly were up for election. The incumbent Liberal Party of Australia led by Premier of South Australia John Olsen defeated the Australian Labor Party led by Leader of the Opposition Mike Rann, forming a minority government with the SA Nationals and independent MPs. Joseph Peter Rossi (born 22 May 1948) is an Australian politician and former Liberal MP for the seat of Lee in the South Australian House of Assembly. He won the seat at the 1993 election before losing it at the 1997 election.
