Biography Eldred William "Bud" Byerly (October 26, 1919 – January 26, 2012) was an American professional baseball pitcher, who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). The right-hander, a native of Webster Groves, Missouri, was listed as tall and . Although he never pitched more than 95 innings in a regular season, Byerly played for five Major League teams in a span of 17 years (1944–60). In 1957 while with the Senators, Byerly posted career-highs with six wins and six saves. In his 11-season major league career, Byerly had a 22–22 record with a 3.70 ERA and 14 saves in 237 appearances. Eldred Hallas (1870 – 13 June 1926) was a British politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Birmingham Duddeston (UK Parliament constituency), Birmingham Duddeston from 1918 to 1922. Life Born and educated in Yorkshire, Hallas moved to Birmingham in 1906 where he became leader of the Birmingham Municipal Employees Union. In 1911 he was elected as an independent socialist to the Birmingham Town Council for Duddeston and Nechells ward . Eldred Hawken (born 2 May 1989) is a South African cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Northerns in the 2012–13 CSA Provincial Three-Day Competition on 17 January 2013. In August 2017, he was named in Pretoria Mavericks' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. Merritt Eldred Hoag (May 25, 1909 – November 19, 1994) was a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II as well as the 11th president of University of North Georgia (now known as the University of North Georgia). Early life Hoag grew up and attended grade school in Pennsylvania. Following high school he enrolled in Edinboro College and subsequently Duke University, where he earned a master's degree in economics and English. He then had a brief career as a principal, and later a dean, of masonic school in Texas. Hoag joined the United States Navy at the beginning of the Second World War. He spent the early years of the war organizing pre-flight schools at the University of Georgia, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Iowa. Eldred De Bracton Norman (9 January 1914 – 28 June 1971) was an Australian inventor and racing-car driver. Norman was born in Adelaide, South Australia, the second of six children to Australian-born parents William Ashley Norman (a solicitor) and his wife Alma Janet ''née'' Matthews. He attended Scotch College, Adelaide. On 15 May 1941 Norman married Nancy Cato, then a 24-year-old journalist. Eldred was notably famous for producing sliding vane superchargers. The rare and iconic supercharger started as a base model, the Type 65 and is highly sought after in the early Holden community. Eldred Pottinger (12 August 181115 November 1843) was an Anglo-Indian army officer and diplomat. In 1837 he happened to be in Herat in Afghanistan to gather intelligence on the area when the Persian army, supported by Russians, laid siege to the city. He helped the Afghan commander repulse the Persians, and was subsequently dubbed the "Hero of Herat" by British historians. Life Pottinger was born on 12 August 1811 in Ireland. He was the eldest son of Thomas Pottinger of Mount Pottinger, County Down (now in Northern Ireland), and Charlotte Moore.
