Eldorado River
Eldorado River (alternate Eldorado Creek) is a waterway on the Seward Peninsula in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is situated west of Solomon. This river has its source within a few miles of Salmon Lake, from which it is separated by a low divide. It flows southeast through a broad gravel-filled valley for to Flambeau River before emptying into Safety Sound. Its headwaters reach the limestones of the Nome series and much of its course lies in a chlorite-albite-schist belt. The Eldorado River provides a southerly drainage into the Bering Sea.Brooks (1901), p. 54 History Its local name was recorded in 1899 by Frank Charles Schrader and Alfred Hulse Brooks and it appeared on the 1900 United States Geological Survey map. Kruzgamepa River
The Kruzgamepa River (or Pilgrim River) is a tributary of the Kuzitrin River on the Seward Peninsula in the U.S. state of Alaska. The river begins at Salmon Lake, elevation , and descends to above sea level at its mouth. In turn, the Kuzitrin River empties into the Imuruk Basin. The basin drains via the bay of Port Clarence to the Bering Sea. In the upper reaches of the watershed, the Kruzgamepa and Grand Central rivers form one stream but are known by different names, and their physical features vary somewhat. Alfred Hulse Brooks
Alfred Hulse Brooks (July 18, 1871 – November 22, 1924) was an American geologist who served as chief geologist for Alaska for the United States Geological Survey from 1903 to 1924. He is credited with discovering that the biggest mountain range in Arctic Alaska, now called the Brooks Range, was separate from the Rocky Mountains. He also took many photographs of local communities. A collection of the images is held at Yale University. Seward Peninsula
The Seward Peninsula is a large peninsula on the western coast of the U.S. state of Alaska whose westernmost point is Cape Prince of Wales. The peninsula projects about into the Bering Sea between Norton Sound, the Bering Strait, the Chukchi Sea, and Kotzebue Sound, just below the Arctic Circle.
