Eldad () and Medad () are mentioned in the Book of Numbers, and are described as having prophesied among the Israelites, despite the fact that they had remained in the camp, while 70 elders had gone to the tabernacle outside the camp to receive the ability to prophesy from God. According to the narrative, Joshua asked Moses to forbid Eldad and Medad from prophecy, but Moses argued that it was a good thing that others could prophesy, and that ideally all the Israelites would prophesy. Eldad Tsabary (born 1969, Israel) is a composer living in Montreal. He composes and performs in a variety of styles including contemporary, experimental, acousmatic, sound art, and live electronics. His works, in all styles, are created with wide textural and timbral variety and attention to motion and process. Dr. Tsabary is a professor of electroacoustic music at Concordia University, Montreal, where he teaches electroacoustic ear training, composition, modular programming, history, and live electronics. He also taught sound recording, digital audio, MIDI, synthesis, sampling, and sound for image at Formation Formation Musitechnic, Montreal. He is the founder and director of Concordia Laptop Orchestra (CLOrk), which specializes in networked and multidisciplinary performances. Rafael Eldad
Rafael Eldad ( he, רפאל אלדד; born 24 September 1949) is an Israeli diplomat. He was appointed Israel's ambassador to Chile after concluding in August 2014 his term as ambassador of Israel to Brazil. He was Israel's ambassador to Argentina from August 2004 until October 2008. Biography Rafael Eldad was born in Morocco. He immigrated to Israel in 1962. From 1973 to 1977 he studied at the University of Haifa, where he received a doctorate in political science and history. In addition to Hebrew, he speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Revisionist Zionist
Revisionist Zionism is an ideology developed by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, who advocated a "revision" of the "practical Zionism" of David Ben-Gurion and Chaim Weizmann which was focused on the settling of ''Eretz Yisrael'' ( Land of Israel) by independent individuals. Revisionism differed from other types of Zionism primarily in its territorial maximalism. Revisionists insisted upon the Jewish right to sovereignty over the whole of ''Eretz Yisrael'', which they equated to Mandatory Palestine and Transjordan. Israel Eldad () (11 November 1910 – 22 January 1996), was an Israeli Revisionist Zionist philosopher and member of the Jewish underground group Lehi in Mandatory Palestine. Biography Israel Scheib (later Eldad) was born in 1910 in Pidvolochysk, Galicia in a traditional Jewish home. The Scheibs wandered as refugees during the First World War. In 1918, in Lvov, young Scheib witnessed a funeral procession for Jews murdered in a pogrom. After high school, Scheib enrolled at the Rabbinical Seminary of Vienna for religious studies and the University of Vienna for secular studies. He completed his doctorate on "The Voluntarism of Eduard von Hartmann, Based on Schopenhauer," but never took his rabbinical exams at the seminary.
