Elbow Valley, Queensland
Elbow Valley is a rural locality in the Southern Downs Region, Queensland, Australia. It is on the border of New South Wales. In the , Elbow Valley had a population of 95 people. History The locality presumably takes its name from the Elbow River, which was named by botanist and explorer Allan Cunningham in his field notes on 6 June 1827. Elbow Valley Provisional School opened on 17 July 1882. On 1 January 1909, it became Elbow Valley State School. It closed in 1946. It was on O'Deas Road (). Westmore State School opened on 1916 and closed on 1923. This school described as from Killarney was presumably in the vicinity of Westmore Road () and the Westmoor pastoral property, and may have been associated with the Westmore Cheese factory which opened in January 1914 and was from the school. Queensland is the north-eastern state of Australia and has land borders with three other Australian states and territories: New South Wales (to the south), South Australia (to the south-west) and Northern Territory (to the west). Warwick State High School is a heritage-listed state high school at Palmerin Street, Warwick, Southern Downs Region, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Thomas Pye and Block A was built from 1914 to 1915. It is also known as Warwick Technical College and Warwick Intermediate School. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 28 June 2018. History Warwick State High School opened on this site in 1914 as the Warwick Technical College and High School, accommodated in new buildings; having relocated operations from an earlier site in Guy Street. Electoral District Of Cunningham
Cunningham was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland from 1888 to 2009. Prior to its abolition, the district occupied an area of the Darling Downs, south and west of Toowoomba. Historically it was centred on the town of Clifton. The eastern portion of Cunningham drew voters from the southern suburbs of Toowoomba. There were also a number of small rural towns in the electorate, including Pittsworth, Millmerran and Cambooya, but no major centres. It was solidly conservative for its entire existence, and was held by the National Party without interruption from 1920 until the Nationals merged into the Liberal National Party of Queensland. Francis Grayson (2 September 1849 – 27 July 1927) was a shopkeeper and member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Grayson was born at Lurgan, County Armagh, to parents John Grayson and his wife Jane (née Irwin) and educated at the Church of England School in Lurgan.
