Elbert Roest
Elbert Jan Roest (born 13 October 1954 in Hoogezand) is a Dutch historian, politician and former teacher. He is a member of Democrats 66 (D66). From 1992 to 2002, Roest was a member of the municipal council of Doesburg and also an alderman. Roest was the mayor of Laren, North Holland from 2002 until 2017. Laren () is a town and municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Located in the Gooi region, it is the oldest town in the area. Together with its neighbor Blaricum, Laren is one of the most affluent towns in the Netherlands. Nationally, Laren is well known for its history as a late 19th-century art colony, preserved in the museum Singer Laren, its retirement home for elderly artists Rosa Spier Huis, as well as its wide array of shops. Theo Hendriks (mayor)
Theodorus Josephus Maria "Theo" Hendriks (18 July 1928 – 1 July 2015) was a Dutch politician, he served as member of the House of Representatives between 1994 and 1998. Although elected for the General Elderly Alliance he was soon expelled from the party. Hendriks retained his seat and continued as an independent. Career Hendriks was born on 18 July 1928 in Zutphen. He followed his MULO education until 1944. Hendriks worked for Philips in Eindhoven from 1961 to 1965. Between 1965 and 1971 he was employed in the Eindhoven office of urban designer . Hendriks was the chief urban design engineer of the municipality of Tilburg between 1971 and 1993. Between 1973 and 5 June 1974 Hendriks was member of the States of North Brabant for the Catholic People's Party.
