Elanora Heights, New South Wales
Elanora Heights is a suburb in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Elanora Heights is 27 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Elanora Heights is part of the Northern Beaches region. Location Elanora Heights is on the hill above Narrabeen, overlooking Narrabeen Lagoon and the Tasman Sea. The northern side lies next to bushland, which runs to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, and the south-western side adjoins Garigal National Park. Native wildlife is common in the area, with bandicoots, blue tongue lizards, possums and many birds being seen. A rare quoll has been found in the suburb in recent years, and rock wallaby are commonly seen on the course at Elanora Country Club. Elanora is a suburb of the City of Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. In the , Elanora had a population of 12,145 people. Geography Elanora is located between Tallebudgera Creek and Currumbin Creek, west-north-west of the coastal border town of Coolangatta and south-southeast of Brisbane, the state capital. Its local government area is the City of Gold Coast. Elanora is bounded by Tallebudgera Creek to the northwest, Pacific Motorway to the northeast and east, and Guineas Creek and Simpsons Roads to the southeast. It contains Elanora State High School, Elanora Primary School and a small neighbourhood shopping centre on Nineteenth Avenue, and The Pines, a larger shopping centre on Guineas Creek Road. Elanora also has a large public library. Under the Queensland Government proposal to extend the Gold Coast railway line, a station at Elanora, near The Pines Shopping Centre has been proposed.
