El Valle, Choco
El Valle, Choco, is a beach town located in the Municipality of Bahía Solano, Department of Chocó, on Colombia's Pacific Coast, some 150 km West of Medellín, and roughly 100 km South of the border with Panama. There is one road connecting El Valle with the town of Bahía Solano, 18 km or 40 minutes down a half paved jungle road. There is no road access to the area from the rest of Colombia. To enter the area it is necessary to take a plane from Medellín or Quibdó or boat from Buenaventura or Panama. El Valle is a fishing village located at the mouth of the Rio Valle, forming a fertile breeding ground that results in abundant fishing and scuba diving opportunities. Chocó Department
Choco Department is a department of Western Colombia known for its large Afro-Colombian population. It is in the west of the country, and is the only Colombian department to have coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. It contains all of Colombia's border with Panama. Its capital is Keebdaw. Chocó has a diverse geography, unique ecosystems and unexploited natural resources. However, its population has one of the lowest standards of living of all departments in Colombia. A major factor, cited by the government, is the rugged, montane rainforest environment, limiting any infrastructure improvements to the region. Bahía Solano
Bahía Solano is a municipality and town in the Chocó Department, Colombia. Bahia, as it is locally known, is an economic and tourist center of coastal Choco. The municipal head is Ciudad Mutis. Bahia is home to José Celestino Mutis Airport as well as seaport, and along with daily flights to and from Medellin, Quibdo, Cali, and Bogota, there are bi-weekly ships that take passengers and cargo from Bahia to the port of Buenaventura. Beach
A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Quibdó () is the capital city of Chocó Department, in Western Colombia, and is located on the Atrato River. The municipality of Quibdó has an area of 3,337.5 km² and a population of 129,237, predominantly Afro Colombian, including Zambo Colombians.
