''El Trabuco Venezolano Vol. IV'' is a studio vinyl LP by Venezuelan musician Alberto Naranjo, originally released in 1984 and partially reedited in two CDs titled ''El Trabuco Venezolano 1977 - 1984 Vol. 1 (1994) and Vol. 2 (1995). It is the sixth of seven albums (two live albums) of the El Trabuco Venezolano musical project arranged and directed by Naranjo. Alberto Naranjo
Alberto Naranjo ah-rahn'-ho(September 14, 1941 – January 27, 2020) was a Venezuelan musician. His mother, the singer Graciela Naranjo, was a radio, film and television pioneer in her homeland. A jazz band (jazz ensemble or jazz combo) is a musical ensemble that plays jazz music. ''Irakere & Trabuco - En Vivo, Poliedro de Caracas, Mayo 15 '81'' is a Vinyl-LP live album released in 1982. The Cuban band Irakere of Chucho Valdés and El Trabuco Venezolano led by Alberto Naranjo shared a stage three times – twice in Venezuela at the Poliedro de Caracas, in 1979 and 1981 (two concerts each year), and once at the Teatro Carlos Marx in Havana, Cuba in 1981. This recording shows the second of the two face-to-face historic encounters between Irakere and Trabuco that were held in Caracas on May 14 and 15 of 1981. This time, the blend of Afro-Cuban and Western elements in the music of Irakere is smoother, more organic, with the jazz influence diminished in favor of contagious dance rhythms. ''Imagen Latina'' is an album by Venezuelan musician Alberto Naranjo, originally released in 1992 and reedited thrice in 2002, 2008 and 2012. It is the seventh album (fifth studio album) of Alberto Naranjo#1970–1979, El Trabuco Venezolano musical project arranged and directed by Naranjo. ''Trabuco'' is a Spanish language, Spanish term used in Venezuelan baseball slang to describe an All-star, All-Star selection of players. So, El Trabuco Venezolano means "The Venezuelan All-Star Band", in the best sense of the phrase. A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Cuatro (instrument)
The cuatro is a family of Latin American string instruments played in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and other Latin American countries. It is derived from the Spanish guitar. Although some have viola-like shapes, most cuatros resemble a small to mid-sized classical guitar. In Puerto Rico and Venezuela, the cuatro is an ensemble instrument for secular and religious music, and is played at parties and traditional gatherings. Cuatro means ''four'' in Spanish; the instrument's 15th century predecessors were the Spanish vihuela and the Portuguese cavaquinho, the latter having four strings like the cuatro. Juan Vicente Torrealba
Juan Vicente Torrealba (20 February 1917 – 2 May 2019) was a Venezuelan harpist and composer of popular music. In 1947 he founded the group Los Torrealberos with his brother Arturo and his son Santana, playing with passion and rich nuances the traditional music of the plains, which is distinguished by feeding on the experiences of the peasants, the cattle-raising tasks, the singing of the birds, the melody of the rivers and the trot of the horses. The following year he launched his solo career and performed before crowds in Latin America, Europe and the United States. In 1971, the recording of the album "Rhapsody Llanera" was key in his career, in which his group was accompanied by a symphony orchestra. Francisco Buarque de Hollanda (born 19 June 1944), popularly known simply as Chico Buarque, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer, playwright, writer, and poet. He is best known for his music, which often includes social, economic, and cultural reflections on Brazil. The firstborn son of Sérgio Buarque de Hollanda, Buarque lived at several locations throughout his childhood, though mostly in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Rome. NG La Banda
NG La Banda is a Cuban musical group founded by flutist José Luis "El Tosco" Cortés. NG stands for ''nueva generación'' ('new generation'). NG La Banda are the creators of ''timba'' (a term coined by Cortés), the most important popular dance and music genre of the past two decades. Prior to founding NG La Banda, Cortés played in the Afro-Cuban jazz-fusion supergroup Irakere, and the seminal songo band Los Van Van.
