El Rancho High School
El Rancho High School is a public high school located in the city of Pico Rivera, California, United States. It is a part of the El Rancho Unified School District. History El Rancho High School opened its doors in September 1952. Whittier High School provided many of the original El Rancho students, and the Whittier Union District administered the new school until 1962 when the El Rancho Unified School District was developed. The school opened before the municipal incorporation of Pico Rivera, within the unincorporated community of Rivera. The school colors are Blue and Gray, representing the colors of the Union and Confederate soldiers of the American Civil War. The two neighboring communities were Pico and Rivera: in symbolic terms, the North and the South. Ultimately the school brought students from the two communities together. Pico Rivera is a city located in southeastern Los Angeles County, California. The city is situated approximately southeast of downtown Los Angeles, on the eastern edge of the Los Angeles basin, and on the southern edge of the area known as the San Gabriel Valley. Ronald Joel Flores (born August 9, 1979) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) left-handed relief pitcher who played with the Oakland Athletics from 2005 to 2007. Amateur career A native of Whittier, California, Flores graduated from El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California and is the younger brother of fellow major leaguer Randy Flores. Cristian Roldan
Cristian Roldan (born June 3, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club Seattle Sounders FC and the United States national team. He was the 2013 Gatorade National Player of the Year while playing for El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California, and played collegiate soccer for the Washington Huskies. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. Scott Reid (baseball)
Scott Donald Reid (January 7, 1947 – June 29, 2021) was an American baseball outfielder who played two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He appeared in 38 games for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1969 to 1970. He went on to serve as a major league scout or executive for over 40 years, most recently for the Detroit Tigers from 2002 to 2020. Early life Reid was born in Chicago on January 7, 1947. William Keith Nelsen (January 29, 1941 – April 11, 2019) was a football player who played quarterback collegiately for the University of Southern California and professionally for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
