El Paisano Hotel is a historic hotel located in Marfa, Texas, United States. The hotel was designed by Trost & Trost and opened in 1930. The hotel may be best known as the location headquarters for the cast and crew of the film ''Giant'' (1956) for six weeks in the summer of 1955Carmack, Liz''Historic Hotels of Texas'', Texas A&M University Press: College Station, Texas, 2007. pp 39-42. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 1, 1978. The El Paisano Hotel was built by Charles N. Bassett of El Paso. It was designed by Henry C. Marfa is a city in the high desert of the Trans-Pecos in far West Texas, between the Davis Mountains and Big Bend National Park. Jane Withers (April 12, 1926 – August 7, 2021) was an American actress and children's radio show host. She became one of the most popular child stars in Hollywood in the 1930s and early 1940s, with her films ranking in the top ten list for box-office gross in 1937 and 1938. Presidio County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 6,131. Its county seat is Marfa. The county was created in 1850 and later organized in 1875.
