El Milagro, Peru
El Milagro is a populated place in the Huanchaco district in the La Libertad Region, Peru. It is part of the urban area of Trujillo city. In 2011, local residents had the idea of upgrading the area as a district. Fishing plays a large role in its economy. Population According to the 2007 census, the town of El Milagro had an estimated population of 24,625 inhabitants, of whom 12,828 were men and 11,797 were women. The population of El Milagro is relatively young, with 62.86% being under 29 years old. Swamps Of Huanchaco
Swamps of Huanchaco, also known as ''Wetlands of Huanchaco'' is an ecological Chimu reserve located in Huanchaco Beach, about 14 km northwest of Trujillo city, Peru. From this ecological reserve the ancient mochica extracted the raw material for the manufacture of the ancient Caballitos de totora used since the time of the Moche for fishing. Currently Huanchaco fishermen still use their materials from this swamps to make their ships of work. Virú Culture
The Virú culture (alternatively known as the ''Gallinazo'') was a pre-Columbian, pre-Inca culture that flourished in the Virú Valley on the northwest coast of Peru. It marks the start of the Early Intermediate Period of Peru, dating roughly around 200 BCE. This North Coast culture was based in the Virú Valley and extended into the Moche and Santa Valleys as well. The Virú Valley is on a coastal landscape which consists of a narrow land strip boarded by the Andes Mountains to its east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
