El Mariel
''El Mariel'' is the second studio album by Cuban-American rapper Pitbull. It was released on October 31, 2006 through TVT Records and Bad Boy Latino. The album was leaked onto the internet on October 27, 2006, four days before the album was released. The album features production from Lil Jon, Diaz Brothers, DJ Khaled, Mr. Collipark, The Neptunes and Jim Jonsin. It also includes guest appearances from Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean, Lil Jon, Twista and Trick Daddy among others. A Spanish-language version of the album was also released on October 31, 2006 featuring the three singles from the album, along with twelve Spanish-only tracks. ''El Mariel'' was supported by four singles: " Bojangles", "Ay Chico (Lengua Afuera)", " Dime" and " Be Quiet". The album received generally mixed reviews from music critics and was a moderate commercial success. Armando Christian Pérez (born January 15, 1981), known professionally by his stage name Pitbull, is an American rapper and businessman. He began his career in the early 2000s, recording reggaeton, Latin hip hop, and crunk music under a multitude of labels. In 2004, he released his debut album '' M.I.A.M.I.'' under TVT Records and the executive production of Lil Jon. "Bojangles" is a song by American rapper Pitbull. It was released in May 2006 as the lead single from his album ''El Mariel''. It was produced by Lil Jon. The remix features Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins. It featured a controversial video featuring the Ying Yang Twins and Lil Jon. Content The song references a line by one of the Ying Yang Twins, "a Bojangles is a girl with breast, legs and wings", in turn taking the name from the fast food chain Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits.
