El Heraldo De Madrid
The ''Heraldo de Madrid'' (originally ''El Heraldo de Madrid'') was a Spanish daily newspaper published from 1890 to 1939, with an evening circulation. It came to espouse a Republican leaning in its later spell. History The publication was founded on 29 October 1890 by , a former close acquaintance of Amadeo I. Following the death of Ducazcal in 1891, the publicacion was bought by Eugenio González Sangrador. In 1893, the newspaper was bought by the Canalejas brothers, José and , and a number of political supporters of the former. Since then, it would grow to become a major publication, as well as the mouthpiece of the Democratic Liberal political platform of José Canalejas. José Francos Rodríguez
José Francos Rodríguez (5 April 1862–11 December 1931) was a Spanish politician and journalist. He served as Mayor of Madrid as well as Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts and Minister of Grace and Justice during the reign of Alfonso XIII of Spain, Alfonso XIII. Biography Born on 5 April 1862 in Madrid to a humble family, his father was car driver. He graduated as physician and worked as such for a decade. Manuel Chaves Nogales
Manuel Chaves Nogales (Seville, Spain August 1897 – May, 1944 in London) was a Spanish journalist and writer. Politically he was a moderate left-wing republican democrat who defined himself as "antifascist and antirevolutionary". As such, he was an enthusiastic supporter of the Second Spanish Republic. Biography Chaves's father was himself a journalist, and he began working in the newspaper ''El Liberal'' in Seville whilst he was still very young. Ramón María del Valle-Inclán y de la Peña (in Vilanova de Arousa, Galicia, Spain, 28 October 1866 – Santiago de Compostela, 5 January 1936) was a Spanish dramatist, novelist and member of the Spanish Generation of 98. He is considered perhaps the most noteworthy and certainly the most radical dramatist working to subvert the traditionalism of the Spanish theatrical establishment in the early part of the 20th century.
