Khaled Bichara Stadium (), previously known as El Gouna Stadium, is a multi-use stadium used mostly for football matches in El Gouna, Egypt, which has a seating capacity of 12,000. It is the home stadium of El Gouna. El Gouna
El Gouna ( ar, الجونة ' , "the Lagoon") is an Egyptian tourist city, owned and developed by Samih Sawiris' Orascom Development, dating from 1989. It is located on the Red Sea in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt, north of Hurghada. It is part of the Red Sea Riviera, and a host city of the El Gouna Film Festival. El Gouna has 10 kilometers of coastline and consists of 20 islands surrounded by lagoons. The town is 25 kilometers away from the Hurghada International Airport. El Gouna Football Club ( ar, نادي الجونة لكرة القدم), is an Egyptian association football club based in El Gouna, Hurghada, Egypt. The club currently plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest league in the Egyptian football league system. History The club's first league season was in the Egyptian Fourth Division in 2003–04, where they achieved their first title and secured the promotion to the Egyptian Third Division. In the next season of the Third Division, 2004–05, El Gouna accomplished the same feat and promoted to the Egyptian Second Division. Khaled Bichara ( ar, خالد بشارة, ) (July 27, 1971 – January 31, 2020) was an Egyptian businessman and entrepreneur who served as the chairman of link.net and chief executive officer of Accelero Capital. Prior to joining Accelero Capital, Bichara was chief executive officer of Orascom Telecom Media and Technology OTMT, group president and chief operating officer of VimpelCom Ltd., and executive chairman of Global Telecom Holding.
