El Camino De Santiago (film)
''El camino de Santiago'' ( es, The pilgrimage of Santiago) is a 2018 Argentine documentary about the Santiago Maldonado case. It was directed by Tristán Bauer and has a script of Omar Quiroga and Florencia Kirchner (the daughter of the former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner). It was released on August 1, 2018. Contents The film begins with a contrast between panoramic images of the Patagonia region of South America and images of police repression. The case which is placed in the context of the Mapuche conflict, describes the 19th-century conquest of the desert with historical revisionism and links modern governors to it. Santiago Maldonado is described as a man who was concerned with social issues and made frequent journeys, and details the context of his journey to the Mapuche Pu Lof, where the event took place. Tristán Bauer
Tristán Bauer (born 22 June 1959) is an Argentine film maker, screenwriter and politician. Since 10 December 2019, he has been Argentina's Minister of Culture in the cabinet of President Alberto Fernández. He breakout film was the 1991 drama ''Después de la tormenta'' ("After the Storm"), which received the New Directors Award at the 1990 San Sebastián Festival and eight Silver Condor awards, including best picture and best director. Media Television Cristina Fernández de Kirchner nationalized the broadcasting of football matches of the Argentine Football Association. Meant as a measure to damage the finances of the Clarín group, which owned the licence up to that point for a pay-per-view service, it was announced as an attempt to guarantee free access to football broadcasting.
