El Bosque, Uruguay
El Bosque is a small neighbourhood of Ciudad de la Costa in the Canelones Department of southern Uruguay. Location This neighbourhood is located just southeast of Lagomar and west of Solymar. In 2004 it had a population of 941. Its area is merely . History Civilization on the land was launched in 1953 on five acres owned by brothers Oscar and Rupert Crapuchette under the initiative of Mariano Almenera. The name means "The Forest" in Spanish. Ciudad De La Costa
Ciudad de la Costa is a city in Canelones Department of Uruguay, on the banks of the Río de la Plata between the streams Arroyo Carrasco and Arroyo Pando. It is considered an extension of the metropolitan area of Montevideo which it borders to the west, while to the east it borders Costa de Oro. It was declared a city on 19 October 1994 and given its current name. At the 2011 census, it was the second most populated city of Uruguay between Montevideo and Salto. Ciudad de la Costa is also the name of the municipality to which the city belongs, but which does not include the area of Barra de Carrasco. Uruguay consists of 19 departments (''departamentos''). Each department has a legislature called a Departmental Board. The ''Intendente'' is the department's chief executive. The Departamento de Canelones ( es, Departamento de Canelones; ) is one of the 19 uruguayan departments. With an area of and 518,154 inhabitants, it is located in the south of Uruguay. Uruguay's calling code is +598. Since 2010, national long distance calling was eliminated, thus there are no area codes in each city. Landline telephony ANTEL (Spanish abbreviation for National Administration of Telecommunications) is Uruguay's state-owned company for telecommunications. Previously in Uruguay, phone numbers used to have between 4 and 7 digits. To make a local phone call, you only had to dial those digits. Lagomar
Lagomar is a residential neighbourhood and resort of Ciudad de la Costa in Canelones, Uruguay. Location This resort is located just east of the Carrasco neighborhood (''barrio'') of eastern Montevideo, on the Río de la Plata coast. According to the census of 2004, its population was 7,798. History The name of the resort is in association with the saline waters of the lake just north of Avenida Luis Giannattasio (lake by the sea, sea being the Rio de la Plata). Lagomar was created as a resort in 1952 and was developed as part of the Costa de Oro near Montevideo and Canelones. It changed its profile from the 1970s, when it gradually reached a breaking point because of population pressure, becoming a permanent residential area for the middle and upper middle classes. Route 10 is a national route of Uruguay. In 1983, it was assigned the name Juan Díaz de Solís, honouring the Spanish navigator.
