The El-Ad Group is an Israel-based United States, American real estate development company. The group controls many subsidiaries including Elad Properties, which is based in New York City, Elad Florida and El-Ad Canada, which is based in Toronto, Toronto, Ontario. Collectively, the El-Ad Group owns many landmarks across North America, including the historic Plaza Hotel, The Grand Madison and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower in New York City. The El-Ad Group is owned by Yitzhak Tshuva, an Israelis, Israeli businessman. In May 2007, Elad Properties purchased the New Frontier Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for $1.2 billion. Astor Place is a one-block street in NoHo/ East Village, in the lower part of the New York City borough of Manhattan. The O'Neill Building is a landmarked former department store, located at 655-671 Sixth Avenue between West 20th and 21st Streets in the Flatiron District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The Plaza Hotel & Casino is a casino–hotel located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada owned by the Tamares Group, and PlayLV is the leaseholder and operator of the property. It currently has 995 rooms and suites, as well as an casino and more than of event space. The Plaza also features a classic showroom, seasonal roof top swimming pool, fitness center, downtown's only bingo room, and a race and sports book. The Plaza began an extensive $35 million renovation project at the end of 2010 that included brand new guestrooms and suites, an entirely remodeled casino floor and lobby, and all new restaurants, bars and entertainment options. Over the years there have been several casinos and resorts planned for the Las Vegas Valley that never opened. The stages of planning may have been an announcement or groundbreaking.
