Ektroverde
Jussi Lehtisalo (born 1972) is a Finnish bassist. In 1991, he founded Circle, a prolific band drawing influences from heavy metal and krautrock to develop a style of repetitive experimental rock. He also runs a record label, Ektro Records, releasing his own music alongside left field rock and metal releases by artists such as Faust and Acid Mothers Temple. Biography Circle Still the main project for Lehtisalo's musical endeavours, Circle have released 40 albums since 1994. Throughout the band's ever-shifting line-up, Lehtisalo has been the only constant presence, and de facto leader. The current core line-up of the band – Mika Rättö, Janne Westerlund, Tomi Leppänen and Lehtisalo – is the longest consistent incarnation of the group, and although their output has slowed down since the mid-2000s, Lehtisalo has shown no sign that he plans to wind the band up. Other projects Lehtisalo is involved in a large number of projects outside of Circle, most notably Pharaoh Overlord, o ...

It was founded in 1987 by some of the members of the hardcore punk groups Kansanturvamusiikkikomissio and Radiopuhelimet for releasing the latter's music. The label's name comes from an epithet invented by Captain Beefheart, heard uttered during his song "Sue Egypt". By the early 1990s it had grown into one of Finland's relatively higher-profile indie labels, with releases frequently getting positive reviews in American music fanzines such as Forced Exposure and Flipside. Many releases were also championed by the BBC radio DJ John Peel, who went on to invite such Bad Vugum bands as Deep Turtle, Circle and Aavikko to record Peel Sessions for his radio show as the first ever Finnish acts to do so. John Peel also invited Mieskuoro Huutajat to perform at the Meltdown Festival when he curated it in 1998. Isis (band)
Isis (sometimes stylized ISIS) was an American post-metal band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1997. The band borrowed from and helped to evolve the post-metal sound pioneered by bands such as Neurosis and Godflesh, characterized by lengthy songs focusing on repetition and evolution of structure. Isis's last studio album, ''Wavering Radiant'', was released on May 5, 2009. Isis disbanded in June 2010, just before the release of a split EP with the Melvins. In 2018, the group reformed as Celestial for a one-off show to pay tribute to Caleb Scofield. History Formation, ''Celestial'', and other early releases (1997–2001) In Boston, several sessions of experimentation led friends Aaron Turner (guitar/vocals; also the owner of Hydra Head Records and its subsidiary, HH Noise Industries), Jeff Caxide (bass guitar), Chris Mereschuk (electronics/vocals) and Aaron Harris (drums) to form Isis in autumn of 1997. As Turner stated, "Isis formed as a result of the dissatisfaction with ...

Alexander Tucker (musician)
Alexander Tucker is an English musician from Kent who writes, records and performs alone and in collaboration with a varied array of artists. One critic writes that "Tucker sounds like he’s following a tradition that has long been neglected, focusing not on ageless songs and ideas but on ageless feelings captured through his droning miasma of acoustic guitar and mandolin." His first musical position was singing in hardcore band Suction in the early 1990s, who according to Tucker "played noisy adolescent punk with leanings towards Swans and Fugazi." His next job was as vocalist of post-rock hardcore 5-piece Unhome who released one album ''Short History of Houses'' (Unlabel) and a split single with Papa M. Unhome split in late 1999 and Tucker went on to tour the UK with Detroit space-rockers Fuxa, playing guitar synthesizers. Solo recordings Tucker developed his interest in improvisation using detuned guitars, tape loops, mini disc players and FX pedals. In early 2000, he record ...
