The Ekta Manch ('Unity Platform') is a political alliance in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The alliance was announced in April 2014, ahead of the 2014 Indian general election. Uttar Pradesh (; , 'Northern Province') is a state in northern India. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 elections. Around 23.1 million or 2.7% of the total eligible voters were aged 18–19 years. A total of 8,251 candidates contested the 543 elected Lok Sabha seats. The average election turnout over all nine phases was around 66.40%, the highest ever in the history of Indian general elections. The results were declared on 16 May, 15 days before the 15th Lok Sabha completed its constitutional mandate on 31 May 2014. The counting exercise was held at 989 counting centres. Quami Ekta Dal
Quami Ekta Dal, (Hindi: कौमी एकता दल; English language, English: ''Religious Unity Party''; abbreviated QED) was a regional party in Uttar Pradesh, India, founded in 2010. The QED's president was Afzal Ansari and was affiliated with Ekta Manch of Indian national Congress. The QED managed to muster 354,578 votes of Muslims in the 2014 Indian general election. The QED merged with the Samajwadi Party of Mulayam Singh on 21 June 2016. The Samajwadi Party parliamentary board, however, cancelled the merger and revoked the expulsion of the Balram Yadav from the cabinet. On 26 January 2017, the QED merged with the Bahujan Samaj Party. Om Prakash Rajbhar (born 15 September 1962) is an Indian politician and president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP). He is a member of 18th Legislative Assembly from Zahoorabad constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Early life Rajbhar was born to Sannu Rajbhar and hails from katauna village in pindra block of Varanasi district in Uttar Pradesh. He graduated from Baldev Degree College, Badagaon, Varanasi in 1983. He is an agriculturalist by profession. Political career Rajbhar is a member of the 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.
