Ekk Albela
''Ekk Albela'' is a 2016 Indian Marathi language Biopic film, directed by Shekhar Sartandel and produced by Dr Monish Babre under the Kimaya Motion Pictures banner and presented by Manglmurti Films. The movie is biopic on the life of legendary actor Bhagwan Abaji Palav popularly known as Bhagwan Dada The film released on 24 June 2016 and will be the first ever Marathi film simultaneously released in India and UK. It will also be released globally. This is also the first Marathi film in the UK to receive a BBFC rating. The film stars Mangesh Desai in lead role as Bhagwan Dada and Vidya Balan in cameo role as Geeta Bali. Bhagwan Dada
Bhagwan Dada (1 August 1913 – 4 February 2002), also credited and mononymously known as Bhagwan, was an Indian actor and film director who worked in Hindi cinema. He is best known for his social film '' Albela'' (1951) and the song "Shola Jo Bhadke". Early life Bhagwan Dada was born in 1913 as Bhagwan Abhaji Palav in Amravati, Maharashtra. He was the son of a textile-mill worker who worked in Mumbai textile mills and was obsessed with films. Bhagwan dada hailed from a Marathi family. He worked as labour, but dreamt of films. He got his break with bit roles in silent films and got totally involved with the studios. Vidya Balan (pronounced ; born 1 January 1979) is an Indian actress. Known for pioneering a change in the portrayal of women in Hindi cinema with her roles in female-led films, she is the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards. Geeta Bali (born Harkirtan Kaur; 1930 ‒ 21 January 1965) was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi language films. She was the wife of noted film actor Shammi Kapoor. Early life Geeta Bali was born as Harikirtan Kaur in Amritsar in the Punjab Province of British India in 1930. She had an elder sister Haridarshan Kaur, whose daughter is actress Yogeeta Bali.
