Ekaterina Prokofyeva
Ekaterina Valeryevna Prokofyeva (russian: Екатерина Валерьевна Прокофьева; born March 13, 1991) is a Russian water polo player. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics for the Russia women's national water polo team, Russian national team in the Water polo at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, Women's event winning the bronze medal. She had previously competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She also competed at the Water polo at the 2013 Summer Universiade – Women's tournament, 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan where she won the gold medal. Prokofyeva was named Best Female Player of the Year at the 2018 Total Player Awards. Kinef-Surgutneftegaz (russian: КИНЕФ-Сургутнефтегаз) is a Russian professional men's and women's water polo club from Kirishi owned by Kinef and Surgutneftegaz. The women's club was founded in the 1993–94 season as Fakel. In the 1996–97 season the club was renamed Kinef. Since 2003, receiving its current name Kinef-Surgutneftegaz, the Russian club emerged in the mid-2000s as the leading team in Russia, dominating the Russian Championship in subsequent years. Most recently it was won its nineteenth title in a row and qualified for the 2012 European Cup's final four.Results

The Russia women's national water polo team represents Russia in international women's water polo competitions and friendly matches. History In the Russian Empire Water polo in Russia dates back to 1910, when the sport was included into the national water sports programme. The Shuvalov school was opened back then, featuring rules that differed from the international rules. In 1913, the first water polo tournament was played between the Shuvalov school and Moscow, with the first winning 3–2. The new sport progressed in Russia, as all swimming organizations included this sport into their programme. P. Erofeev and A. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. 2021 FINA Women's Water Polo World League
The 2020 FINA Women's Water Polo World League was the 17th edition of the annual women's international water polo tournament. It was played between October 2019 and June 2021 and opened to all women's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualified to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final, originally from 9–14 June 2020. The tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, it was announced that it would be played in from January to June 2021. The United States won their seventh consecutive and 14th overall title, after defeating Hungary in the final. In the world league, there are specific rules that do not allow matches to end in a draw.
