Bayerisch Eisenstein, until 1951 just Eisenstein ( cs, Bavorská Železná Ruda) is a village and a municipality in the Regen district, in Bavaria, Germany. Geography Bayerisch Eisenstein is part of Bayerischer Wald and borders the first German national park established in 1968. The town is both winter and summer resort. In the summer walking in the forest and mountains is popular. In winter, winter sports prevail concentrating on the Großer Arber mountain. It is one of a trio of connected places in the area. The other two are Železná Ruda (german: Böhmisch Eisenstein or ''Markt Eisenstein'') and Špičák (german: Dorf Eisenstein), both in Czech Republic. Železná Ruda lies 2 kilometres northeast from Bayerisch Eisenstein. The town's railway station is split by the border. Eisenstein is a town in Price County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 630 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 76.3 square miles (197.7 km2), of which, 74.9 square miles (194.0 km2) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.7 km2) of it (1.85%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 669 people, 272 households, and 201 families residing in the town. The population density was 8.9 people per square mile (3.4/km2). Gotthold Eisenstein
Ferdinand Gotthold Max Eisenstein (16 April 1823 – 11 October 1852) was a German mathematician. He specialized in number theory and mathematical analysis, analysis, and proved several results that eluded even Carl Friedrich Gauss, Gauss. Like Évariste Galois, Galois and Niels Henrik Abel, Abel before him, Eisenstein died before the age of 30. He was born and died in Berlin, Kingdom of Prussia, Prussia. Early life His parents, Johann Konstantin Eisenstein and Helene Pollack, were of Jewish descent and converted to Protestantism prior to his birth. From an early age, he demonstrated talent in mathematics and music. As a young child he learned to play piano, and he continued to play and compose for piano throughout his life. Odile Eisenstein is a theoretical chemist who specializes in modelling the structure and reactivity of transition metals and lanthanide complexes. She is currently the equivalent of an Emeritus Professor at the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier, équipe CTMM at Montpellier 2 University and a professor at the Hylleraas Centre for Quantum Molecular Sciences at the University of Oslo. She has been a member of the French Academy of Sciences since 2013, as the first female elect.
