Norman L. Eisen (born November 11, 1960) is an American attorney, author, and former diplomat. He is a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, a CNN legal analyst, and the co-founder and executive chair of the States United Democracy Center. Thelma "Tiby" Eisen (May 11, 1922 – May 11, 2014) was an outfielder who played from through in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Listed at 5' 4", 130 lb., she batted and threw right-handed. Thelma Eisen was among the top players in the early years of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Gustavus Augustus Eisen (August 2, 1847 − October 29, 1940) was a Swedish-American polymath. He became a member of California Academy of Sciences in 1874 and a Life Member in 1883. In 1893, he became the 'Curator of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Lower Animals' at the Academy. He later changed titles to 'Curator of Marine Invertebrates'. Hilda Eisen (née Gimpel; April 25, 1917 – November 22, 2017) was a Polish-American businessperson, philanthropist, and Holocaust survivor. Early life Hilda Gimpel was born on April 25, 1917, in Izbica Kujawska, then part of the Kingdom of Poland (1917–1918). She was the second of seven children. Her mother was a grain dealer and her father a baker. She later reflected that she had a "peaceful girlhood" and would often dance to Jewish music and go to the movies. In 1939, Eisen and her first husband, David, were taken from their neighborhood, which was invaded by German soldiers and imprisoned in the Lublin Ghetto. Arnold M. Eisen, Ph.D. (born 1951) is an American Judaic scholar who was Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. He stepped down at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Koshland Professor of Jewish Culture and Religion and chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Stanford University. Keisai Eisen (渓斎 英泉, 1790–1848) was a Japanese ''ukiyo-e'' artist who specialised in ''bijin-ga'' (pictures of beautiful women). His best works, including his ''ōkubi-e'' ("large head pictures"), are considered to be masterpieces of the "decadent" Bunsei Era (1818–1830).
