Eintracht Frankfurt II
Eintracht Frankfurt II is the reserve team of Eintracht Frankfurt. Formerly known as ''Eintracht Frankfurt Amateure'' (Amateurs) until 2005 the team played as U23 (Under 23) to emphasize the character of the team as a link between youth academy and pro team. The traditional home ground was the Riederwaldstadion but for safety purposes the team was forced to play at Bornheimer Hang. The ground was actually renovated for local rival FSV Frankfurt but since their unexpected promotion to the 2. Bundesliga and the stricter home ground requirements FSV used to play at Eintracht's actual stadium while the ''SGE'' reserves play at their home. From 2009 to 2014 both teams, FSV and Eintracht U23 played at Bornheimer Hang. Since its re-establishment, the team plays at Sportpark Dreieich. The squad was frequently supported by Ultras Frankfurt, especially when playing derby matches against Darmstadt and Kassel, both home and away. German Football League System
The German football league system, or league pyramid, refers to the hierarchically interconnected league system for association football in Germany that in the 2016–17 season consisted of 2,235 leagues in up to 13 levels having 31,645 teams, in which all divisions are bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. The top three professional levels contain one division each. Below this, the semi-professional and amateur levels have progressively more parallel divisions, which each cover progressively smaller geographic areas. Teams that finish at the top of their division at the end of each season can rise higher in the pyramid, while those that finish at the bottom find themselves sinking further down. Therefore, in theory, it is possible for even the lowest local amateur club to rise to the top of the system and become German football champions one day. Rudolf Bommer
Rudolf "Rudi" Bommer (born 19 August 1957) is a German former footballer, who played as a midfielder, and current football manager. Playing career Born in Aschaffenburg, Bommer played 417 games between 1976 and 1996 for Fortuna Düsseldorf, Bayer Uerdingen and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. Bommer scored 54 goals in the German top flight. He played for West Germany at the Euro 84 in France. Coaching career Bommer started his coaching career with the reserve team of Eintracht Frankfurt between July 1994 and August 1995. After stops at VfR Mannheim where he was head coach between July 1997 and April 1998. Bommer then moved on to Viktoria Aschaffenburg where he was head coach from July 1998 to June 2000. Bommer became head coach Wacker Burghausen in October 2000 and won his debut 4–3 against his former club VfR Mannheim. Bommer left and became head coach of 1860 München in July 2004. Manfred Binz
Manfred Binz (22 September 1965) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is the assistant manager of SC Hessen Dreieich. Club career Binz was born in Frankfurt. In his active career the sweeper won the DFB-Pokal with Eintracht Frankfurt. Having made his debut on 2 March 1985, he became the undisputed chief of the Frankfurt defence in the 1986–87 season and appeared in 246 Bundesliga games in a row. Although Frankfurt was always a championship contender at the beginning of the 1990s, Binz failed to win the Bundesliga with the ''eagles''. Finally the national cup victory was the highlight of his active career. After being eliminated in the UEFA cup in March 1994 he fell out with manager Klaus Toppmöller, causing the slow departure of the sweeper. Mimoun Azaouagh (born 17 November 1982) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Azaouagh started his career with the youth teams of FSV Frankfurt and Eintracht Frankfurt. In 1999, he moved to Mainz 05. In the 2000–01 season, he played his first matches for the second team of Mainz in the Oberliga.
