Eindride Sommerseth
Eindride Sommerseth (21 March 1918 – 21 May 2010) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Meløy. In his early career he was a mechanic for the Norwegian State Railways in Grong and Mosjøen. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he fled to the United Kingdom where he underwent training as a tank mechanic, and also military training in England and Iceland. After the war he was stationed in the Norwegian Armed Forces until 1948, when he took a mechanics job at Norsk Hydro in Glomfjord. He headed the trade union there from 1961 to 1971, and during this time he was also a national board member of the Norwegian Union of Chemical Industry Workers. He served as an elected member of Meløy municipal council from 1963 to 1968 and 1971 to 1975. Labour Party (Norway)
The Labour Party ( nb, Arbeiderpartiet; nn, Arbeidarpartiet; A/Ap; se, Bargiidbellodat), formerly The Norwegian Labour Party ( no, Det norske Arbeiderparti, DNA), is a social-democratic political party in Norway. It is positioned on the centre-left of the political spectrum, and is led by Jonas Gahr Støre. It was the senior partner of the governing red–green coalition from 2005 to 2013, and its former leader Jens Stoltenberg served as the prime minister of Norway. The Labour Party is officially committed to social-democratic ideals. Its slogan since the 1930s has been "everyone shall take part" and the party traditionally seeks a strong welfare state, funded through taxes and duties. Eivind Bolle
Eivind Albin Andreas Bolle (13 October 1923 – 10 June 2012) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Hol. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Nordland in 1973, and was re-elected on two occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1969–1973. He was the Minister of Fisheries from 1973 to 1981 during three different cabinets: second cabinet Bratteli, cabinet Nordli and first cabinet Brundtland. During these three periods he was replaced in the Parliament by Eindride Sommerseth, Karl Ingebrigtsen and Finn Knutsen respectively. On the local level he was a member of Hol municipality council from 1959 to 1963, and later in Hol's successor municipality Vestvågøy Vestvågøy is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway.
