Eindhovense Studentenvereniging Demos
Eindhovense Studenten Vereniging Demos (Eindhoven Students' Association Demos) is a students' association in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Its members are mostly students at the Eindhoven University of Technology or the Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven. The association was founded on March 14, 1963. The association is not based on traditional values, but on democracy and the equal status of its members. It has no hazing Hazing (American English), initiation, beasting (British English), bastardisation (Australian English), ragging (South Asian English) or deposition refers to any activity expected of someone in joining or participating in a group that humiliates, .... Since 1969, Demos has resided in ''The Bunker'', a building it shares with various other students' associations. In 2012, it was announced that The Bunker is to be demolished, and Demos is set to move to a new building in Eindhoven's city center in the spring of 2016. The Eindhoven University of Technology ( nl, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven), abbr. TU/e, is a public technical university in the Netherlands, located in the city of Eindhoven. Fontys University of Applied Sciences is a Dutch university of applied sciences with over 44,000 students in several campuses located in the southern Netherlands. The three largest Fontys campuses are located in the cities of Eindhoven, Tilburg and Venlo. The name Fontys comes from the Latin word "fons" which means "source". Thus, Fontys wants to highlight that it is a source of knowledge for students. Hazing
Hazing (American English), initiation, beasting (British English), bastardisation (Australian English), ragging (South Asian English) or deposition refers to any activity expected of someone in joining or participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, abuses, or endangers them regardless of a person's willingness to participate.
